We use this Sony TRV-480 Camcorder which uses digital 8MM tapes, once we are done and the tape is full, I will then use my firewire connection through the PC and then process of converting the file to an AVI file - then use ConvertXToDVD - which converts the AVI file to DVD and then burn it from there. I find it really nice and how fast technology grows to actually be able to watch dvd home videos on the widescreen HDTV's. How about you?

This program is found from its original website:

The original price of this program is $59.99 but they have an online sale going for $44.99 - Is it worth it? Yes it is! Been using it over a year now and burns my movies with no issues.
It converts many different video format files such as AVI, MPG, WMV and others listed. You can also add your own DVD Title, edit how many clips you want to be played, add your own DVD Menu background, also add in subtitles and the like. I've tried other AVI to DVD programs such as Roxio, but came across issues with that program. So this is your best choice and I do recommend it.

Sometimes. It all depends on the length. We usually make compilations, rather than directly burning to DVD.
Of course, there's some editing involved with Sony Vegas, but that's about it.
