It is often said England is a nation of animal lovers and indeed many people here keep household pets but the English are also known for their love of horses and excel internationally in equine competitions.
Yet, today in the news is filled with the most horrifying account of a raid by the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) on a farm in Amersham. Which is close to my home.
Over 30 were found dead and over 80 horses rescued from dreadful conditions today.
Dead horses where piled up against fences, what motivates people to keep animals in such conditions?

We have that same problem here in the States and I do not understand the mentality of these people. When they are caught and fined or sometimes jailed, they say they love their animals and come up with stupid reasons for why they didn't take care of them. It is a horror. What you just described is the worst I have heard about horses I think. I would hate to be the one who found them. It must have broken their hearts.
By the way, you had racoon on your tags again. Have you found out why yet?

Maybe those who did it were not right in the head or are very much in touch with their animals selves. We could only speculate for the reasons but one thing i am sure of is that those who are humane wont do such dreadful things.
