Alright where I live it's cheaper to go to the butcher to get a half of a cow and pay 1.59 for it than to go to the stores and pay 4.99 a lb for a roast. So me and my friend have decided to go in together and get the half of cow, they say it will take 9 days to get it. My question to you is would you go to the butcher to get a half a cow if you had another person go in with you or would you continue to pay outragous prices at your local market?

It makes sense to me. We do not eat very much beef mainly because of the cost. I say go for it if you have the money to pay for the half now. It would save you a lot of money in the long run.

That is what we decided to do we ordered the half today and they said the average weight is about 350lbs and at 1.59lb it'll end up costing 556.50 divide in half for each of us that is 278.25. Now there is approx an 80 cutting loss but that still is better than paying $16 a lb for a tbone. And since we decided to get tbone it's even less weight that we lose. So I think I might have to do this every couple of months if she up for it between the two of us we have 9 kids and then 4 adult counting us so I think we'll be through the meat say with in 2 months. thanks for responding have a nice day!!
