I can't seem to quit Mylot!

I keep saying to myself that I'm going to quit posting here on mylot because I have so much to do and it's not like mylot is going to pay my bills but I can't seem to do it. For one I love coming here to read up on the news. It's just easier that way. Then I see discussions that I'm just itching to respond to and so one. Well then of course I end up where I got my money last month sent to paypal and now because I starting posting again I have a couple of dollars in my account but not enough for them to send it to me. So I say okay, I'll post again until I reach that $10 payout and then I'll quit for good. Well it never ends up happening. I'll have some night that I can't sleep and so when looking for something to do I end up here. I must be weak or something. Of course I'm in a small town and there isn't many people to talk to so this is the place I end up. Anyone else have this problem?

I too have the same experience. I tried stopping the habit several months ago but come December I found myself back in here again and tried posting back again to different posts. Because of that I was only able to withdraw two times last year. This new year I will try to keep my spirits up and try my best to post as many as I can.

Don't quit from mylot! If you feel bored or tired engaging here, just take a break. But be back as soon as you gain your interest again. It's fun and you will really learn from here from other's point of views.

To me, myLot is NOT about the money; but, it is nice to get every now and then. To me, mylot is a "social networking site" where you can meet people from around the world. You can learn new things here and you can help other people. MyLot is a place where you can ask others for help or just to clarify things. (I had some waxed paper in my drawer for YEARS and asked for ways to use this stuff; I got a lot of helpful ideas and my roll is almost half gone now - I use it frequently.) You are not "weak"; the money you earn while surfing the site is just your "excuse" so that you can say you are not "wasting" your time. If the site meets your needs (with or without money); it is worth your time.

That's what it is all about. MyLot is for social networking first and the money is just a nice bonus. If money is a problem, there are other places on-line to earn money and there are even more ways to earn money working from home; if, you are in a situation where you cannot or do not want to work outside the home.

That's how I feel too... it's just instead of socializing I really should be working. I'm hooked. Well it could be worse. This is helping my type speed and stimulating the mind. I learn a lot here.

Well, I do make sure my work is done BEFORE I come to myLot. It is an extra incentive for me to get the things I NEED to do finished so I can come here and socialize. That means that some days I never do get a chance to come to myLot and other days I have more time to spend here. For me, this is my reward.

Logically, my time would be better spent on other things. I normally defend mylot, but even I have to say they have drastically dropped what they pay (yes, it's still free money). Unless someone has all day to spend here, I don't think anyone is amounting much into their account. I'm here for the people. I love some of these people and I am enriched for their existence on mylot. I would never want to give that up.

Yeah, I remember the good old days when the pay was better here, but I was never here for the money really. It was just nice that I was able to get paid something for having a good time.

I like it here. I spend a lot of time here, but it's my choice and I don't feel guilty about it. When I'm not here, I'm usually crocheting. I haven't earned $10 on this site yet. Kudos that you have! Since you enjoy it, why deny yourself? Just take care of the other stuff you have to do, then come back. it could be considered your reward for taking care of business *smile*

I've earned a couple hundred here but that was over some time and it use to pay better than it does now. I also have referrals so it helps although most of them don't post much.

It's quite amsuing. I know how addictive mylot can be, although I don't think I would want to leave. I won't be drawn away either, so it's either if my friends leave or the site closes down and then I would find a new source. ~Joey

I have an addictive personality - I know this for a fact. Which is why I always fear for myself when I find a new site. I was quite addicted to myLot for the first few months of finding the site and was logged on here for 4 to 5 hours a day - it wasn't for the money - I have a full time job which pays really well, myLot earnings are barely a drop in the ocean compared to my normal job. I enjoyed the site and made nice friends but then I found facebook and got addicted to that too lol, so I gave up myLot for a while without even a thought. I only log in here now once a week or so and try to catch up on friends' discussions and some of the new user discussions, but in general I think the addiction is over, only having been replaced by another one! Good luck with trying to quit, but really there is no reason to quit unless it's taking over your life such that your real life is suffering :)

Well, it sound like you might be addicted to this place like so many of us are. LOL I know I am. I only have 1.47 but I know oneday in the near or long future I'll make that 10 dollars. Its not the money it the discussions. A place I can hang out a while. Dont leave, I know alot of people will miss you. But if you have to limit youself alittle. Take a hour to do some work, then get on for a hour and then another hour and so on. Thats what I try and do, take a little break. lol ~WiteNgtOwl

i am still enjoying mylot. it has never occured to me yet. i think the biggest attraction of mylot is the thought that it is here and that we enjoyed being here one time or another. there is a reason to come back aside from the earnings. i am glad to have read this discussion and be able to respond to it.

I don't think you're weak because you can't quit Mylot, it is very normal, if there are not too many people to talk to, that you need to make conversatation and to know new people. I work in a backround where everyone likes only gossip and there are not the kind of people to have an interesting conversation with. They are not nice to talk to, they talk only nonsense and about others.

I know what you mean. I seem to be drawn to this site, even if I don't even intend to visit for a night. Maybe it is all about all the silly motivational things...
