I just got off the phone with the nurse at the hospital where I will be having my gastric bypass surgery. Guess what?? My surgery is scheduled for JANUARY 31st!! Yaaaaaaayyyyyyyy! I have my pre op on the 23rd. I'm practically jumping up and down in my chair as I'm typing here! The nurse told me that if I gain weight, they won't do my surgery. So now, I'm really going to have to hit the recumbent bike just to be safe. LOL! AND....I guess I'm going to have to go and buy me some cute pajamas to wear while walking up and down the hallway there. Can't be looking all ratty in front of the public now, can I? Teeheehee!

It was so funny. When the nurse asked me if I wanted the surgery this month, I was like "well......YEAH!" (it was all I could do not to add the "DUH" at the end of it LOL). Usually I am very nervous about surgery of any kind. But for this, I am actually happy to have it. Thanks so much hon. HUGS!

Good for you Katlady! I know 5 different people who have had this proceedure done within the past 3 years (3 women and 2 men.) They have said how wonderful they feel now since having it done. Each and every one of them reports better energy, and no more leg pains. Not one of them had any problems with the operation, nor after it. I'll be praying for your success and hoping that everything goes as well for you as my friends! Now...go out and buy those pjs so you'll feel extra good :-)

All the best to you that is my son's Birthday and I am meant to have an operation the day befor "30th Jan" but Have a measly cold and am afraid that they won't operate. I couldn't handle being sent home, when I have made arragments for family to help and they have taken time off work and traveled far to help.... It's tommorrow and I'm glad to go and get it over and done with but afraid of being sent home... Either way I will still be suffering pain...... Best wishes to you

Thank you, it went well and am recovering quiet quickly, still a little sore though.... I amazingly woke up that morning feeling good and didn't even feel like I had been sick... I was stressing so much and making sure all the housework was done befor I went in I think that must have been my problem, or the prayers worked...... I hope you are feeling much better and everything went well for you :) all the Best

I have waited for three whole years for this to come about. The doctor that was supervising the Medifast program that I was in was the one to suggest the surgery because I couldn't lose very much weight that way. The next day, I told my doctor and he got the ball rolling. What with my insurance taking forever and a day to even answer him about approving the procedure, and then taking longer to deny the surgeon I went to the first time, and then even longer to move up the waiting list for the second surgeon I went to, it was very disheartening. Thankfully the wait is over. And thank you so much for the permission....I'm going to get right on the shopping. Hahahahahaha! Hugs to you hon.

Oh happy days...counting down now to the new you. I'm happy and excited for you girlfriend I've been treadmilling everyday for nearly two weeks (and every other day for all of December)...sweating away as I think positive. I'm trying to eat right and Sunday I was so pleased. I had cereal, a sandwich and then roast chicken dinner with lots of vege. No snacks, 2 coffees with skim milk and sweetener and 2-3 bottles of water. I realised I hadn't weighed myself dfor a bit so I hopped on the scales and I've gained 500gm!!! It's just not bloody fair!!

I'll bet you're gaining muscle and that's what is showing on the scale. Try measuring yourself for a while...you'll see that inches or coming off, and that feels just as good as seeing less pounds on the scale! Good luck hon, and thanks for the positive words. Hugs!

I finally have a chance to visit friends sites and see what has been happening with them. After reading your touching comments about the passing of Tasha I wanted to send you an e-mail to express my appreciation. While I was here I saw this post and want you to know that I will be holding you in my thoughts and prayers from now until after you come back and tell us you are doing well. The positive, enthusiastic attitude you have about what you are having done will go a long way to assisting you during your recovery. So ride away...and maybe you should take a photo of yourself in your cute PJ's...strutting down the hall and celebrating the body you are well on the way to having. Wishing you many light filled blessings...you are a valued member of this community. Hugs, love and light... Raia

I've been busy working on my exercise and stressing over that stupid law suit. I'm finally going today to pick up the response papers to fill out, and I have to return mine by Friday. Hubby has until the 4th of February to get his filed, so I don't have to rush so much hon his. But we are going to get them filed before my surgery. So that's all occupying my time quite well. LOL! Thanks hon.
