For the past 20years, we've seen the rapid increase of Filipinos Leaving the country... This is in response to the inability of our nation to produce enough jobs for its growing population, or on a more personal agenda-that some of our fellow country people have grown cynical over Philippine lifestyle and Politics, and have decided to leave the country for good..labor migration has helped many Filipino families survive.... Current events show that there is no stopping to this trend. The preposition... Should the government continue to encourage labor migration? Why or Why Not?Please feel free to post your thoughts...

They are encouraging it since that is the easiest way the government can get the needed dollars. Sending our excess employable population is also a big relief for the government to find jobs for them. But the bad side of it is that we lose so many skilled workers available locally as the best are the ones that get hired and the ones left in here are those that are not that experienced. Politics also has a big influenced in the way we Pinoys decide whjy we want to leave this country. It is not that we do not love our country anymore it is because politics is not running good that affects the economy and the opportunities are not growing according to the population growth that we are experiencing.

This is a good short term solution for our labor problems. However, continuing to encourage labor migration is taking the easy way out and will ultimately be disadvantageous to our country because our countrymen will be at the mercy of these countries. e.g. retrogression in the states is making it difficult for our nurses to work there if there weren't any other countries taking the excess where would our nurses go? We should find other businesses and industries that would make us more or less self sufficient than just depending on other countries to provide work for our fellow countrymen
