Mylot ressembles a kind of forum but unlike many forums there's no way you can create a signature. That's really a missing feature don't you think ?

I don't consider signatures the biggest problem on myLot. In my opinion, it's the design.
MyLot's design resembles a kind of sketch. I don't have anything against it, mind you, but it sometimes feels a tad "clunky" and "clumsy" which fends off most referrals.

No, no, no, I'm not looking for a huge high-end design. I'm okay with simple stuff. But this one's a bit "clumsy" as I already said. They should organize it a little bit.
Designs can attract new members of the community, but they can also fend them off.

I don't think people join mylot for the design but for the community. So for me it would be a waste of money to redesign their site.
What I think is that they should authorize signature because people would less try to spam the forum with links to their website and would create more interesting posts because they wanna people to see their signature.
That's what a great forum like sitepoint.com and it's a very professional site who doesn't bother that their members promote their site.

Well, I see your point because you are basing it on experience. I based mine on my friends opinions, since I send them referral email and they didn't join the site because they didn't like the design.
Well, don't judge to book by it's cover ;)
