Do you freak out over weather adviseries?

I'm in Alabama and we're currently having severe weather warnings and threats that will take place throughout most of Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm with the worst of it between 3-7pm. They're thinking severe storms and isolated severe tornadoes. Plus isolated storms and rain right now until daybreak. It's clear now (knock on wood!) but I'm freaking out about tomorrow!! I can't sleep of course. I'm listening to the weather radio online as we don't have one in the house or a weather kit (which is a major no-no down south). I'm more worried about my mother driving home in that weather tomorrow and have told her that she should be home by 2:30 so she won't be on the road when it all hits as she works out in a rural area that's about 25 min away. This kind of weather puts me on edge like nothing else, I'm about as freaked as if an axe murder were standing in my window, lol. This kind of weather threat makes me feel 6 yrs old again not 26, lol. Do weather threats in your area freak you out?

I have a friend that just moved back from there and he mentioned that the weather was crazy. I'm like you, I haven't been able to sleep, my tummy in in knots and I won't breath until my mom comes back home from work as she's working 25 min away towards the storm. You'd think I'd get used to the weather but I doubt I ever will.

In Washington, we are famous for rain storms, but we have severe wind storms as well... I don't freak, because we have the supplies we need, we're surrounded by trees that are only about 30 feet tall, we stay put til its over, and we have good homeowners insurance! After that, all we can do is ride it out... although Hun does get antsy without his TV... LOL!

I freak out completely... in fact it's 10am and I still haven't been to bed and not planning on it until it all passes. I've been watching our local news coverage online and they switched shifts, I was feeling all calm but the day girl thinks freakouting out at every raindrop is cool and comes on every 10 min to say "we have the potential for deadly weather in our area and it could hit any moment now". It maybe sprinkles every half hour. Seriously? WTF is that kind of reporting? The night guy was a lot calmer and said there was no big deal until after noon time with the majority between 3pm and 9pm. I so need the cat's prozac, lol.

With all the rain we have, its never a big deal, but the local news has recently added their 'Severe Weather Center', so every time the clouds move in, its considered severe! Guess they need to pay for the remodel!LOL! I turn on our weather radio to get the facts without the hype! And I look outside a lot.

I pay attention to them and take precautions but I don't wig out over them. Recently we had tornado warnings and the town sirens were sounding. I know we get alot of them here so I opened the windows some (to relieve pressure in the apt.) and kept an eye out at the whether. We do unplug our pc's when we get bad whether like this. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I used to live in the Midwest, and I only worried about the weather when the tornado sirens went off. Now that I'm on the West Coast, we don't seem to get as many crazy weather conditions. We don't even have tornado sirens here! :)
