For weight loss and general health, the US Surgeon General recommends: "Be physically active for at least 30 minutes (adults) or 60 minutes (children) on most days of the week." This level of activity burns approximately 150 calories, which would burn 5 pounds in 6 months. This level of exercise reduces disease risks and should be considered the minimum daily requirement, regardless of weight. To lose weight, you must eat fewer calories than you burn. Most people cannot estimate their calorie intake accurately unless they keep a food diary for a few days and do the totals. Weight loss success is due to eating fewer total calories than you burn off each day. In fact, the very latest weight loss research now indicates that fat cells in total act as far more than a simple holding cell for these hormones. The latest weight loss research indicates that fat cells don’t just store these hormones, they actively secrete them. Permanent weight loss is a paradigm of health – healthy fitness for lasting weight loss, as the banner says. In specifics that means the question of how to eat for weight loss becomes how eat for longevity. There is a relationship between food, aging and weight gain.

Hmm, I think it should be rather a start, diet and exercise goes and help eachother, she should have her diet first to have the discipline, what to eat, when and how many just she should just eat, then she will eventually need some exercises to tone up her body. Doing that regularly will do help her get fit, I believe.

i don't think that going on a diet is a good way to keep fit. i think that someone can keep fit with a litle gumnastics which means (joging between 2 and 3 kmh, exercises with hands, legs and body and running for 5 or 10 minutes)! i think one hour or one hour and a half a day is great!!

That is not the truth. Taking on a diet always takes people unhealthy and quite few performance in weight loss. To make control and keep a blance food list, then do some exercise persistently, the weight loss may be not obvious immediately but it is a very useful idea than going on a diet alone.

Is going on a diet a good way to keep fit? Not necessarily. Depending on the diet you take you will regulate some toxins in your body and/or intake more of some certain vitamins than you do regularly. But if you'd like to keep fit you have to exercise a lot. If I was in her shoes, I wouldn't bother much with diets. Sure, I'd eat more of something healthier than I would usually consume, but I'd exercise a lot too, which would in a way protect me from stopping eating meat (which most diets tend to dismiss.)
