Autism and GM Foods

I heard a snippet of the news this morning about a link between autism and GM foods. Anyone else hear it?
The whole GM foods market has been worrying to me, as here in the US, food that has been GM does not have to be labelled.
I known in my native UK they are banning GM modifield corn(maize) and I think may be going further.
Is this another case of the government failing the people and bowing to pressure from big business?
The good news is that knowing that GM and autism are linked, there is a good posibility that better treatments can be found.
Thoughts?

By "GM" do you mean Genetically Modified?
My son has Autism and is 4 1/2 years of age
Is there a link to an article or something that I could read up on this?
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

I apologise, the TV got me again. Their headlines did not relate correctly to the story. I didn't see the peice on the TV, just the headline.
Here is the link to what I think is actually the story..

Thanks so much for the Article link....
It says that a rare gene change is linked to Autism but I don't understand how this could be linked to genetically modified foods!
However, the gene change is valuable to know about I just wish I knew what causes the genes to change! It seems what they publish from research is never clear to the average person and so no wonder there is so much confusion surrounding Autism!
Thanks Again!

I am sorry, I wasn't clear. I got it wrong. I thought they were talking about GM foods, but, it turns out they were not.
I hope the genetic article will help though.

Thanks so much for bringing this to the attention of the myLot community. For those individuals dealing with autism, on a daily basis, and for others who are close to those dealing with this, all information is valuable. My four year old grandson is autistic, so I have a vested interest in these topics. Take care.
