Do you think there is a God?

I was watching September Dawn last night and it made me think about how many different people from different countries with different beliefs we probably have here on MyLot. I believe in God. I was raised fire and brimstone Southern Baptist and switched to Methodist about 7 years ago. I love to learn about different beliefs and the reasons for them. Do you believe in God or something/someone else?

Ofcourse there is a God.I believe He created the world. The evolution theory is just too hard to believe.I just believe that people who call themselves atheists are the ones who dont want to be accountable for anything they do.Believing in a God will make a person think of this supreme being who watches over us.Personally I feel, God has to be experienced ,the everyday relationship shared with Him and His guidance etc.Anybody who is really wanting to feel Him will do if they only tried. As one very famous Preacher said it, If there really is a God,Heaven and Hell, its a better option to believe in Him rather than not believing and going to hell if what was said about God was true all along.

as an aethiest i hold myself personally responsible for the wrong things i do, I and I only make my decisions and am to be held accountable for the wrong decisions i make in life, and "if" there is a heaven and hell and i end up in the latter then it is through no ones fault but my own and i am prepared to suffer the consequences for my actions! From your statement it sounds like you are saying that the reason to have a religion is for someone else to take the blame for the bad things you do in life and that you will all end up in heaven as someone else will have taken the punishment for your "sins"!

Ugh, so much wrong with this... (all caps signifies emphasis, not yelling--I'd italicize words, but you can't on MyLot, so... :P) 1. "The evolution theory is just too hard to believe."

"If theres no god, we are not here?" Uh, doesn't it take a massive assumption to make that point? If I were to tell you "If there is no Zeus, then we wouldn't be here," wouldn't you realize that I was presupposing that Zeus created us? Well, that's exactly what you're doing. Assuming your argument is true in your argument is very bad logic.

Nonsense. God is simply there for people who can't live with the fact that they just don't know what's going to happen when they die. To many people die fighting for some Imaginary person that only excists in their heads. And besides, most people just believe in God because their parents told them to (brainwashed?). And 'who can explain me the creation of the world without putting god like the creator'? Well, it could be the Big Bang theory. But we call it a theory because we don't know for sure (and we never will). People who in believe in God just say 'No no no, God created the world.. and thats the END!' And what does the Grace of God bring? AIDS? More wars? More George Bushed? More Bin ladens? More terrorists? And the bible, what a joke. It's just a book with some nice stories in it. Nothing more. Comeone people, people believed in God in the Dark Ages (You know, the time when people lived like beasts?). We know better now.

Made some spelling mistakes I see, forgive me .. I'm not from the US of A or the U.K. Oh and by the way, I see the believers are in great numbers here on MyLot.. so I won't bother with more Relegion posts. I don't feel like getting a '-' all the time and/or getting bashed with stupid arguements.

That's the whole reason I started the discussion. Instead it's turning into a whole bunch of people bashing the beliefs of others. I wanted to hear about the beliefs of others not how pissed off they are that someone else believes differently than they do. I have athiest friends, budist friends, catholic friends (none of those seem to be happy LOL) and lots of other types of friends. I love hearing them talk about their beliefs.

Of course. God exists and manifests Himself in so many ways. To believe in him would explain everything and to not believe would just confuse us all.

Of course. If there is no God, the One we call God in the Holy Bible, where did everything come from? There must be a supreme being who created and controls all of such things existing whom we call God. God made Himself known to all of us through His creations and the Holy Bible.

I am one of those who believe that are God existing in this world and He always here for us. I believe to the higher power of God. And I believe that He is the one who create everything in this world specially our life and all life in this planet and all creature in the entire universe. I believe that He is our own Creator.

I don't think there's a God...I KNOW there's a God. I know some ppl don't believe in God and that's ok but I do. I was raised that way and I don't ever see me not believing in Him. I've heard of ppl believing in Buddah, Allah, all kinds of things...perhaps it's the same God just by different names. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
