I am on day 3 of a migrane. I am over the screaming pain and the horrible light sensitivity but that awful "a bomb has gone off in my head" feeling is still there. It is unbelievably hot where I live this week, it is in the 40's celcius (about 106F) so I have just been inside in the cool trying to sleep it off. Any tips? What do you use to rid yourself of migranes?

might sound silly but for really bad migranes, midol seems to work best. Also hot baths.

i hear your pain, try taking pills you've never had before, grab an ice brick for your head(start at base of skull & slowly work your way round entire heed.sit(for me to lay down is inviting more pounding)somewhere quiet, empty all thought from your mind except a white sheet on the line. try & sit somewhere so if you fall asleep your not going to feel cramped up when you awake...

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do. Try staying warm but make sure you have enough humidity. I have taken Rx migraine meds but nothing really works. A friend read that you can lay with banana peels on your forehead and back of neck. Sounds weird but I think it's transdermal potassium and it seemed to give some relief actually. Sounds weird, I know, but at least try it.

I also had migraine till I was Sixteen. It was horrible, I had it every month for a full 24 hours. I couldn't bare to see light, I threw up a lot en I just slept all day. However, the doctor came with a new medicine that I could use when I was having a 'Migraine Attack', some nose spray. When I took that my Migraine was 60% less worse, so I could walk around a bit and eat some. And then when I was sixteen... It just went over :D
