How do you change your profile picture???

I have been trying to update my profile, I am very sick of the profile picture that appears next to all my discussions. Could anyone help me out here? I guess I am missing something somewhere!!! HA HA HA! Any help would be appreciated!!

Go into "edit your preferences" the screen will pop up where you can change your avator
