I'm a Country Music lover....if you can't tell by my avatar..lol! I have a lot of favorite performers and can't think of just one because I personally think they are all awesome. Most of the music is about family, God, country or good lovin' and I don't see anything wrong with any of that. I think the Country Music of years ago was more the type people didn't like. It was more of a breaking up, sob story thing and it's changed in past years but people won't give it a chance to realize that. If you don't like country music what is your reason? Have you taken the time to listen to the words to any of the songs? If you do like it what is it that you like about it?

My other half listens to it, yesterday he has it on in the truck (like a red neck would drive a car) and it is something about some kind singing his wife left and he is not sure if she slammed the door or it was the wind. Then he said she was leaving and he was not sure if it was for the day, the night, the week or forever. Come on, this is not a feel good song. The guy sounded like he was clueless when it comes to relationships and this just gives guys an excuse to say hey, a lot of guys are like this. It is depressing.

I used to hate country music with a passion however that's changed now. I still don't like the old country music but I do like the newer version of it. I can't hear most of the words because of my severe hearing loss but I enjoy the beat to it. The old country music was always, or most of the time, about someone leaving someone for someone else. It's so much of a downer and I don't like that. Now it's a lot about jokes and good short stories. I like that.

I especially like the ones about jokes and get such laughs out of them. I'm sorry you can't hear the words to them but you should check them out online some time and you will appreciate them more.

My mom is the one who sings the songs to me but I don't always hear her right so I learn what I can when I'm around her. She has her radio on and a song comes on that she wants me to hear she'll sing it, sometimes I hear her and alot of the times I don't but at times she'll relay it back again. I guess what I'm trying to say is, mom doesn't understand how I can't hear. I've been gone for majority of 15 years with visits in spurts because of being in different states that she doesn't realize how bad it has gotten. I'll be totally deaf probably within the next 5 to 10 years because it's progressing so fast now.

I think Country Music is still popular. I find it fun and relaxing and very entertaining - unlike hard rock which pumps you up and sometimes is just noise

I think hard rock is just noise too and all about things that kids shouldn't be into anyway.

There are a few country music stars I will listen to but for the most part don't care for it - reason is simple, when I was young that was about all we listened to. My father was a big country fan and he refused to listen to anything else - he ruled!

When my Dad was alive he was a big country music fan and I think that was because he was from Oklahoma. It wasn't until 6 years ago when I was dating a guy who also loved it that I really got into it and wished I had listened to it when my Dad was here.

I love country music. Some of my friends pick at me for listening to it. They all say that it is sad and a downer. I disagree. There are a lot of happy, funny and inspiring songs also. I love that you can totally understand the words! LOL

My kids laugh at me because I'm always listening to country music. My daughter is into the oldies and my son is into techno which to me is just disco without the words.

I like a variety of music. Country among them. I am a Garth Brooks fan too. I saw him in concert in November. Couldn't get to KC for the live performance, so we bought tickets for the movie theatre broadcast. Still awesome. The older country "twangy" sort of counrty does have a certain stigma that people don't care for. I have a former co-worker who was an ALAN JACKSON FREAK! calanders, coffee mugs, clothing. She even followed him around on tour. Took time off from work to do so.

Everyone who listens to country music is an Alan Jackson fan and will be until the end. Garth Brooks puts on an awesome concert doesn't he?

I guess it is a matter of taste that's all. I am a metal and rock fan. Although not very much into country music but I do like Arlo Guthrie, i very much love Arlo's 'The City of New Orleans' and 'Days are short' also I love Bob Dylan despite the latter's songs aren't all country-like but generally i am a Bob Dylan fan. Thanx ...

I used to hate it, because like you said they were always about breaking up. Now, I rarely listen to anything but country. I like most of it, but there are a few artists I can't stand. I can identify with most of it.

I really don't know...I like it. Each story seems to tell a story. I think some ppl don't like it b/c quite a few songs deal with heartache and loneliness. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have just recently began listening to it again. I quit because is so depressing.....I got drunk the day my mom got out of prison.....remember that song? Kinda sums up what it was for a few years. Now I like the old country like Kenny Rogers....and love Reba....and I am adding a few to my list like Martina McBride....but there are still some that don't interest me at all..When my one son in law was stationed in Afghanistan....There was a song called Letters from Home....and I bawled everytime I heard that song. So quit listening for a few years.....but I am back!

I think it's great that you're giving it another chance! Even though I never had anyone overseas Letters From Home always made me cry too. Martina and Reba are among my favorites!

A lot of the country music they play on the radio, is still about breaking up or my dog did this, or I love you till,or she left me, type of music. I personally love country music but the only time I get to listen to it is when I'm in my car alone or if my husband isn't home. G|He absolutly hates it with a passion. If I have it on and he comes home he automatically changes the station. I get mad at him for it, but oh well. The reason I love country music isn't so much the words, it's the beat I like. When I listen to it I dance in my seat, in the car, or when at home I dance around the kitchen while making supper.

Like any other form of music, I have to sday that there are performers I like and others I don't. I don't think I can say that there is an entire category of music that I don't like. There are categories I tend to like more than others though. Country may not be my favourite category, but there are some specific country srtists taht I do enjoy listening to.
