How can we define Heaven?

Some people believe that Heaven is a place, while others believe that Heaven is a state of being, where there is complete peace only. I think Heaven is both. What is your view on the subject.

Pastorkayte, heaven is the abode of God and his angels. It is a place of complete bliss, delight and peace. It is where the faithful on earth will dwell when they are finally reunited with the Godhead. It is free from sin and evil. It if full of light and utter happiness.

There is no set definition of heaven therefore the definition varies in its meaning to different people under different cirucmstances. For me heaven is when all my debts are cleared, when there is ample money to buy good food, clothing and own shelter and children are well educated and stand on their own, when we are able to smile everyday heartily, that is heaven.

Heaven is where God is and that's why we pray Our Father in heaven. Heaven is where those who will be saved will go on the last day. Heaven is above and the opposite of hell. Heaven is a place.

I guess it is safe to say that it is both. The Bible describes heaven as a literal place. It says that the streets are paved with gold, the walls are like Jasper and there are twelve gates made of pearls. I also hear that there are colors in heaven that we have never seen here on earth.

Hi pastorkayte, It is all a great mystery, and I expect it will remain that way as long as we occupy a human body. I believe that life is eternal, that is without a beginning or an end. I cannot believe that heaven is a place in the human sense and it is also difficult to imagine a state of being where everything is perfect. When I look at the world of nature and see how perfect it is when man doesn't interfere, I am content that all is well. Blessings.
