What Do You Class as an invasion of privacy? When the telephone rings just as you are about to sit down to eat a meal you have spent ages to prepare Someone knocking at your door trying to sell you something Getting spam and other irritating scam emails flooding into your inbox When your friends outstay their welcome When your neighbours play music too loud When someone talks too loudly on their mobile phone when you are travelling on public transport For me it's the telephone, I find that the greatest invasion of privacy and I hate it! And it always rings at the worst moments! Like the damn thing knows you are about to sit down to enjoy a nice lunch or you have just got into the bath. What's your number one privacy invader?

Hi Wolfie I just let the phone ring till my machine picks up. I would have to say for me it would have to be hearing my neighbors play music too loud. Especially if its night time. LOL

I agree with you on the telephone thing. Like you say, it's like they know when you are the busiest, when it rings. I hate it when I get telephone solicister calls at dinner time. I have put my phone number and name on the don't call list with the government but the calls still come. There isn't much I can do about it, but there is no way the government will prosicute those companies for calling anyways. There are just way too many of them and it would take too much manpower to govern it. I think this is an invasiion of my privacy.

While everything you mention is rather annoying, I find the thing I find most invasive is unsolicited advice, especially from someone with no experience! I'm a rather private person (there's a lot that I don't spread around, although I'm fairly open), but when someone who's not a parent gives me parenting advice that isn't a parent, my first thought is, "Do you have children? No? Then shut the h*ll up!". I also don't pry into another's personal life--if I don't want someone to do it to me, why would I do that to anyone else?

My Number 1 privacy invader is ... 1) If someone open or harrass my private belongings (i.e., purses, diary, notes, house, emails, etc.) without me knowing it, I would consider it as an invasion of my privacy. 2) If a stranger is asking my private life, I would also consider it an invasion of my privacy.

My wife and I have a lazy "Child worker/mid wife" she's always sticking her nose into our life and making us feel bad for certain things. Since moving out of parents, she hasn't come around as much but the last time I wouldn't spend any time in the same room. She hasn't got much to complain about now. Jake sleeps in his room most of the time, the house is tidy, clean and safe and we do our best by him. Given the chance I'm sure she'd attempt to get us kicked out of this place, just so she could "continue" bothering us. That's the sort of person she is, has she tried to get my parents backs up with stupid things. ^ that's the invasion of privacy that is over the top or even an invasion at all. ~Joey

If the phone rings at a less the great time I just let the machine get it..Music that is too loud I would just use earplugs..I try not to sweat the small stuff and to me it's mostly small!..I don't spin my tires when I can not control the outcome...and I try to let everyone do their thing.. An invasion of privacy is when you are sitting down to eat, or watching your favorite Television program and the phone rings. It is not your sister or brother-in-law or son or daughter-in-law, it is a telephone solicitor or someone who wants you to take a survey for only a few minutes (translated to a whole hour) or someone with a weird accent wanting you to add insurance from your credit card company. With relatives, all you need to do is to turn the Tv down just a little bit.

I consider anything that comes into my life uninvited as an invasion of my privacy. I would have to say unwanted emails and phone calls as the worst offender. But people who butt into conversations drive me crazy as they interrupt and only know maybe 1/3 the story, talking about making a big fool of your self. There is a lady on the bus that continually does that, people will be chatting and she butts in with no problem, she only did this to me once now she avoids me as I told her to bug off.

I let unkonwn calls go to my answering maching so that doesn't bother me. Spam and annoying emails I just delete, I don't let them bother me anymore. Uninvited guests don't get to come in at all, everyone knows to call first, it is very rude to just pop over someone's place. What get's me going is the loud music from the neighbors, the one's that just don't care and play their music very loud.

I would have to agree with you there, wolfie. The telephone is the single most annoying thing in my home. Sometimes I get the urge to just call up the phone company and tell them to turn the darned thing off for awhile. I can be doing absolutely nothing for the better part of a day, but as soon as I start on myLot, pop in a movie that I've been wanting to watch, or settle down to read a new novel-there goes the phone. And, yes, most of the calls are nuisance calls.

for me, it's my mother in law She breaks into our house when we're not here with some strange excuse of needing to get something or check on something...she gets our mail, will go into our cars...she grills me with 1000 questions any time i see her, then she nags me about the dumbest things - I've started lying to her just so she won't keep asking me about things that aren't any of her business! she tried calling my insurance agent once because silly me accidently told her that i needed to add my hubby and she didn't believe me that I had taken care of it. she tried demanding power of attorney on us...she is total control freak! meanwhile, she's crazy enough we should probably have power attorney for her! also you cannot tell her anything without her telling everyone in the family...so if you tell her you have a real bad headache, two days later someone is calling asking how your headache was...oh man, i could go on forever about this nutty woman! I am lucky hubby recognizes how insane she is and handles her most of the time :) she drives me crazy!! p.s.- i hate the phone ringing too...i keep my cell on silent unless i am expecting an important call & our house phone is hooked up to the fax thankfully!!

It's a difficult choice. Among the ones you listed, they are all pretty annoying. But I am particularly bugged by the telemarketer who calls around dinner, or when you're in the tub, or when you're changing your baby's diaper. My favourite thing to do is to give the phone to my 3 year old son when one of them calls. He love to chat on the phone, and it's funny to listen in on the other phone to hear the telemarketer's reaction.
