Do you sing your kids nursery ryhmes?Does it put them to sleep or are they still wide awake after you are done?Which ones did you like best and which ones do your kids like best?I only know a few so I find myself singing the same ones over and over again.Guess i need to buy a book and learn some new ones to sing for my daughter.

i have sang nursery rhymes i can remember to my kids. but i normally have my music going throughout the day as i'm cleaning(country music, and my 2 yr old son is now trying to sing to it (thats funny to watch lol) and he dances to it. it helps wear him out so he sleeps good. especially now with this cold weather and being cooped up in the house, it helps run off his energy lol

i make up my own lullabys and songs for the kids...most of them are pretty silly one i made up when my son was a baby it went "go to sleep my dear sweet dear when you wake i'll be here so close your eyes and dream sweet dreams and i'll see you in the morning." he still likes this lullaby now, 4 years later. he also loved it when i sang the carpenter's "close to you"

I sang Rockaby Baby and All Through the Night to my children and also that cowboy song, When I was Awalking This morning for Pleasure. I do not know the real title, but I was into Cowboy movies when my boys were babies. I was thinking of singing the Flintstones themes and or the Sesame Street songs, but I liked the old ones. I did not ask my sons what they liked because well they are busy with their own lives now.

I would not worry about buying a book of songs. Kids love when you repeat things. It's how they learn. I have sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little star to my kids for years. Now that they are older it does not have the same affect that it used to but my youngest still will not go to bed without her song. when they were younger sometimes it would put them to sleep other times it would just help them to relax.
