Ok I have a question for you. Can you tell whats making a noise before you see whats making the noise? I can. I do daycare and have to be on my toes all the time. I can tell what someone is doing before I see what there doing. I can tell you who drives in the driveway before I see the car. I know why the dog barks before I see what there barking at. I guess I just have really good hearing. That and you get accostomed to sounds you here all the time.
Example: The other night we were in our room watching tv and the dog barked. My husbands like whats she barking at and started to get up to go check. I said its ok shes barking at the neighboors who put there dogs out. He says how do you know that. I said well for one where I heard the bark come from was in the dining room and for two I hear the neighboors screen door open. He says no way you know that. So he got up and checked and thats what it was.
Another example: If im down stairs I can hear the kids playing upstairs. I can tell what toy they are playing with by the noise it makes on the floor. The other day I hear a boing noise off the floor. I knew it was there wire dvd rack. I go up to check and sure enough one of the boys threw it on the floor.
So can you tell what makes a noise before you see what made the noise?

I can do that sometimes. We live on a busy street, so most of the time, I don't pay attention to outside noises. I do usually know what the kids are doing.

Certain noises I know I can tell what they are. Like in the mornings and afternoons I can tell when my son's school bus comes around the corner and parks in front of the house. I can also tell when the kids are playing a little too roughly by throwing things, because they always seem to hit a wall and it makes a loud bang. I can tell when one of my kids are in the bathroom because their voices sound farther away.
