I went to Hongkong last Thursday. I passed 3 immigration officer asking my name? Seems like my photo on my passport appeared different from my present look. That photo was taken 2 years ago with my hair tied up and my skin tone was darker. I want to think I probably get more beautiful now than before or vice versa I am uglier now than before LOL. Have you also experience asked by immigration officer because of information from your passport? Please do share.

The best way to explain it to them is, wear that same outfit you wore when that passport photo was taken, I'm sure they won't even think twice and ask you again!;) My passport photo's still the same as what I look now, maybe am not that interesting so they don't bother looking at me for a long time!LoL Well I do have those reactions, especially when I try to show my college photos from my friends and people who I just recently get to meet. They would tease me, telling me that I did changed alot and differently!=) I was so thin and skinny back then, but now I grew and matured into a "monster" or man!LoL I even tell them, wait till you see my photo when I was still a kid!;)

It must have been rather difficult to explain to the immigration officers why you look different from your passport photo. I got some photos for a visa for Hungary and put them in my bag because it was raining. They got a tiny bit wet from the rain. I was horrified when I got them out of my bag at the embassy. They made me look so strange, almost like a ghost. However they were accepted for my visa. When I went to Israel I made sure that the immigration officer stamped a separate piece of paper. However going into Jordan I got stamps for my visa for Jordan. That was a sure way for all immigration officers to know that I have been to Israel. I was delighted when that passport expired and I got my new passport. In places like Hong Kong the immigration officers take their job seriously and do a good job checking passports. In the EU sometimes EU passports are hardly glanced at. In Guatemala the immigration man was for asking different amounts of money from each traveler off the bus I was on. I paid a few U$ but the older American man had to pay US$20! He felt really ripped off and so not all immigration officers do such a good job as the ones in Hong Kong. Also at the border of Romania and Bulgaria I saw some people bribing customs officers.

Wheeww! I'm glad your previous passport already expired. That must be tough to have that passport LOL. If I were you I will blame the rain. Just joking. Sad to know that there is also bribery in dealing with immigration or customs officials. Yeah you are right officers in Hong Kong really take their jobs seriously. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day! Take Care God Bless.

I had been out of the country several times going to Singapore twice, to Malaysia twice, Indonesia and Canada and I never experienced being questioned by immigration officers about my identity. The photo in my passport is just me, as I never changed looks even for the past 20 years execpt for just few streaks of grey hair which is not noticeable in the photo though. :D

Hi joyce! It seems like you love travelling a lot. Good for you that you never experienced being questioned by immigration officers. I agree with you the photo in my passport is also just me only got some changes like got my hair straight and my skin tone is a lot lighter than before. I understand their just doing their job and it didn't bother me. After all I don't have reason to get worried. I actually find it funny, thinking that I probably have a better look than before. LOL. Happy posting!
