Love It or Hate It Yuwie The Big Debate

I was first recommended to Yuwie early last year and to be honest when I first signed up I wasn't keen, besides my time was spent mostly on my little businesses and naturally here! So Mylot got my first priority. I have given Yuwie a fair go, but I'm sorry, that site just frustrates the hell out of me! So Wolfie is having a Saturday night rant, so where do you stand on the Yuwie debate? Number 1 What annoys me is that the adverts for Yuwie with that guy stating 'Yuwie is the first paying community, excuse me but it's NOT! I can't understand why no one has pulled them up about that, it is NOT true that Yuwie is the first site that pays it's members, Mylot is! That man is so irritating and he is WRONG! Number 2 The site is sooooooooooooo painfully slow, trying to load up pages takes for ever and a day, if your friend has got graphics on it slows down even more (if that's possible) and if you have music on your profile page add more time for it to load! Number 3 Yuwie is NOT a good paying site. It's all about numbers if you don't have 100+ referrals constantly and mindlessly clicking on pages you don't earn much! Last month I was very active on the site, more than Mylot, sorry guys! And do you know how much I earnt????? 51 cents! It's an outrage. On Mylot I spent half the time I spent on Yuwie if that and I have earnt $20! You get messages about rating people so they rate you back to get back a page read, it's like a big chain mail system! Remember the chain letters you used to get? Rate me and I'll rate you back! Most people don't bother, I can now understand why Number 4 You are subject to far more spam than you are on here believe it or not! You can tell when people add you as a friend that they are going to send you details about signing up to other sites! Number 5 The amount of error messages you get up on the site, you spend ages waiting for the page to load or sending a message only to be told that there is a maintenance error! Number 6 You have to fill out a tax form to get your earnings, but then again what earnings? Good points to stabilize the argument Er... Er... I can express myself more on there than here without fear of upsetting people by being the real wolfie (if that makes sense for those who know what team I bat for) Er... Er... Help me out please...

I'm with you wolfie and I didn't even give it as much of a go as you did. The site just did nothing for me from the word go. I've not heard anything good about it except what you mentioned regarding freedom of speech, all I hear is negative comments and complaints. Another reason I don't like it is because people left here in droves to join and that made me sad.

Don't be sad my friend, seek solace in the fact that they are all returning to Mylot in droves. People won't hang around that site for long and they'll soon be back ;0)

Why on earth are you here if you prefer Yuwee so much?

the members here push out other members in droves, double standard. either have decent moderators or not. Here there are members who pick on other members because they are promoting the same site and what not. I see referral links everywhere but others are banned for posting a few. the members here killed mylots population. not Yuwie

I understand about the down time and the slowness but then again I have dial up so I am used to pages loading slow for me. I have to say I love Yuwie. I have made a ton of friends on there and real friends at that who send me comments, messages and blog comments. I have over 1,000 referrals in all 10 levels so my earnings have been pretty good so far. Keep in mind I only have 4 personal referrals and they brought in the rest for me. I have made over $10 in there and just started being active in December because I didn't have the time. I have learned a lot of things by reading other Yuwie blogs. I do understand what you are coming from. Last week I got into an argument on here because they called it a scam. How can it be a scam when I have seen payment proof from some friends? I am logged into Yuwie now and am going back and forth between that, Mylot and other programs I belong to. About the profiles that have too much stuff on them, I agree and even posted about this on my Yuwie blog. Since I have dial up I don't have the patience to sit there and wait for someones profile to load even if it is a nice one. My profile is nice yet simple and easy to load. Even if I had high speed I would still stick to a simple and easy to load profile because I think of others who have dial up and I don't want them leaving my page just because it loads too slow. So yeah I love Yuwie just as much as I love Mylot. :)

I read your blog Cwilson and it was for that reason, I removed the music from my profile. When you get into the friends helping friends club, you will see that I posted a link to it as a "must read" for other members. I've alway been considerate of my dialup friends. That's why I diabled HTML comments and don't include any newsfeed. The music was nice to listen to, but your point was overriding. Cheers, Ed P.S. I'm switching back and forth with yuwie and mylot too. Working smarter....not harder!!

I can't say much about it, other than I can't stand it and I dislike the look and feel of the layout. It reminds me an early design, It's a good idea although I now keep away from the site. Slow loading times on top of all the doubts just repels me. ~Joey

There's no excuse for the slow speeds, the money they are raking in they should have fixed it, Mylot don't have the problem of slow loading pages, so why do Yuwie?
12 Jan 08
I know mylot has a powerful dedicated server, yuwie could just be run by clowns who just have an hosting account or mini server, or dedicated server. I don't know to much about them, although if they're making much money design would be an area they should invest in. ~Joey

I don't know very much about Yuwie, wolfie, except that someone from myLot sent me a referral, and I did check it out. I never got past the spokesman's pitch before I decided it was not for me. According to everything I've heard, the site falls far short of what it promises to deliver. I know of some very hard-working people who have tried it without a lot of success. If you think it's not worth your while, you should probably just abandon the site. That is only my opinion.

I do have the friends over there, which is a definite pro, but most if not all of the friends over there are over here too LOL!

Hey, didn't you forget the newest problem, the newsfeed? I no longer accept friends that have that on yuwie and even went so far as take a screen shot of the stupid little box that pops up every time I go to a page with one and posted it on my profile... Another rant on yuwie. I have a love hate with yuwie, the love part is my friends there. But if they leave, I may also leave.

Oh yeah, the cons for the site are adding up, no one has added anything positive about it! I won't wait with bated breath for some good points then LOL!

I joined right near the beginning, stayed for a while and then left. I thought 'socialising' meant meeting and mixing with people like on here but my English must have become really bad in the years I've lived abroad. Yuwie is ONLY about money and friends on there,in my view, are not really that. Friends help each other out as we do on here - over there people 'use' other people calling them 'friends' in order to earn. As you say too, to earn what? A few miserable cents! No thanks. My idea of a social site is this one even though it doesn't get promoted as such.

WOW! You and quite a few folks have had some really bad experiences. I joined yuwie August 2, 2007 and have been enjoying it very much. I think it's probably because I'm not driven by money. If that was the case, I would have quit after my 2nd month. I earned $0.13 for August and September. October, I earned $1.68, November: $5.02 and $6.74 in December. At that rate, I'll hit payout in a couple months. Maybe I'll treat myself to dinner and a movie or something when I get it! I've been a mylot member for 13 months now and to date, I've earned $4.51. I should hit payout here in about 4 years if I'm lucky. I'm not gonna bash mylot though. It works for some for others, it doesn't. Same for yuwie. It's not for non-socializers. Besides not being focused on the money, I think I maybe having fun at yuwie because I'm connecting with the right people or something. Folks who post blogs about old movies we comment on, have celebrity look-alike contests and just shoot the bull. Not once have I received any spam and oddly enough, I don't even get solicitation type comments on my profile. Of course, if I did, I would just delete it. As for layout, I LOVE my profile, because I create several Angelina Jolie layouts! I change 'em up every now and then, depending on what mood I want her to be in. People keep saying you need alot of referrals to earn. Same thing for mylot - and pretty much any other program you choose to make money with. For the record, I have 23 referrals here on mylot, 7 active ones at yuwie. Those 7 have going on to get active socializers as well, so they are enjoying yuwie too. Many of us don't have 10-12 hours a day to invest in mylot, so reaching $20 regularly is not going to happen. Everyone has to go with what's best for them. Finally, you're right about the yuwie guy's claim to being the first social networking site to pay. He must have only been comparing yuwie with myspace, facebook and similar sites. Had he considered DirectMatches, Narple, Bizpreneur, etc, he could have said yuwie is the first (and only) social networking site that pays WITHOUT asking you to pay for an upgraded membership. Cheers, Ed

Well I like Yuwie. But I don't think comparing Mylot with Yuwie is a fair comparison. Compare Mylot with Yahoo Answers and you come out better because of the pay. Compare Yuwie with Facebook and Yuwie comes out better again because of pay. Wolfie, my question is are you here to socially network or ask questions and get answers? By the way if you're thinking what is she doing here then, it is because I come back here looking for friends that are not or have not come to Yuwie. So basically I only come here to socially network.

You go girl!!! It's time to put all this foolish anti-yuwie talk on the back burner!! It should now be clear to everyone that myLot and Yuwie are completely different. MyLot is for the "here and now" folks while yuwie is for the more long term financial thinkers who like to socialize. Cheers, Ed

In a moment of weakness I signed up for an account...actually it was to see what all the hoopla was about. I haven't been on there in forever but I will say that one of the things I love about the site is how easy it is to design the the layout of your page. Now if only MyLot could make doing your profile page that easy. Other than that, I don't really care for the site. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Well sweety I have to admit I do like it but I can't really use it just now as I get too easily confused and distracted! I go to do something and end up forgetting what I was doing and doing something totally different! Hugs xxx

I joined Yuwie in September last year. I gave it up after October. As my earning is too low there. It is no more than USD0.02 and I found my efforts in Yuwie is in vain.

Well Yuwie is still quite new compared to other sites and it's still undergoing site maintenance and stuff so Yuwie is sometimes slow and sometimes not. Th bottom line is, if you don't like Yuwie, well that's okay maybe it's not for you, but i do think you shouldn't hate it and tell people to not go there because there are people who might like it too even if they read all the bad comments about it here. Different sites have different uses. Each one of us should try and experiment and stay there for at least 6 months and see where it takes them. I too am in the process of seeing if Yuwie is indeed worth it. So far i like what i see. That's just my two cents worth. =)

Well put Owstalaga, but the smart ones will just both sites. Just put more time into the one you like the most. I don't see anything wrong with income coming in from two sources...

i am sitting here laughing because you are right it is somewhat a waste of good time. i have been checking out mylot for a few days and wow all the information and news you can look at and read and i am having fun. as for yuwie i made 3.00 a month until they had problems keeping things going and everyone of my 58 downline left but on and he is only on because he is my best friend and is scared i kick him in the knee lol

I signed up about 6 months ago and after two weeks of trying to work the site I gave up. I don't like it anymore than you do for all of the same reasons you have stated here. I will just stick to mylot and makemoneykingdom where I make $1.20 a day doing 20 posts. They don't let a person do more than 20 and they pay 6 cents a posting. All the postings are about how to make money online and nothing else. All the threads are about all the different sites you can make money on and people's opinions about the sites. You can post anything about the sites you make money on "except your referral link". But you can put your blogg link into your signature and have your signature show up on all your posts. I have received many referrals this way. If you are interested the link is on my blogg in my profile page.

I think you hit it on the head with the "trying to work the site" Chrislotz. Yuwie is not for everyone. It's a long-term income earner and in my 10+ years online, I've never come across a newbie who can think beyond the first 2-3 months when it comes to making money. One thing you will learn though is that posting messages on sites like this or even in forums for 8-12 hours a day is not healthy and if you're a part-timer because you work or have children to tend to, 2-3 hours a day for a few dollars monthly will turn you off and you will leave it. Cheers, Ed
