What is it that makes you like a certain writer.

I am an avid reader and I love reading books written by authors who use the same characters in every book. To me it is like getting to know the characters as if they were real people because you find out more about them as you read each book. Using the same characters in each book makes them seem more like weekly television programs instead of books and I find it hard to wait for then next book to come out. One of my favorite authors is Janet Evanovich. I have read everything she has written and just love her character of Stephanie Plum. Another writer who uses the same characters in his books is Stuart Woods. Mysteries are my favorite type of books to read and I am always looking for new authors who use this writing style. What makes a book or writer one of your favorites.

I like V c andrews and nora roberts. mostly vc because she writes in series.I am starting to like true stories like memoires. I want to recommend this book to you. Jesus Land. It is about a brother and sister who are adopted by a couple. They are not really brother and sister just through the adoption. I love this book. If you can read it. I promise you will like it.

I used to read all of VC Andrews books and loved them. I haven't read the last couple of series she wrote, or I guess I should say her ghost writer wrote. They were very lucky to find someone who could take her manuscripts and turn them into stories as well as she could. I will check the library and see if they have that book. Thank you for the suggestion.

I understand your love of favorite characters in books. Other than my favorite Agatha Christie, of course, I have recently come to enjoy the books of Dana Stabenow. Her character, Kate Shugak, a native Alaskan, are quite good. I always love to read Dorothy Simpson's Ins. Luke Thanet's mysteries. Also enjoy Roy Hart's Sup. Roper. Then just recently I found David and Aimee Thurlo and their vampire series which are different, but good. I hate it when I read a good book and then forget who wrote it, so I can't go back and see if they wrote any more about the main character. This happened when I read a story about a detective who had a big dog with him. I would love to read that again. Anyone out there know of him?
