I just spent 2 hours updating all my sites (10) with new banners. Had to replace banners for programs that didnt work out or they were scams. I am pointing this out to say: MAKING MONEY ON THE INTERNET REQUIRES TIME! Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. I had over 20 sites and cut back because it was taking too much of my time to maintain the sites. I am now focusing on promoting my 1 ptr blog and mylot. I updated all my sites with new mylot banners. God forbid if something happens to mylot!! Think I will throw in the towell then, LOL! I work on my books when things are slow. Anyone out there know what I am talking about????

I know exactly what you are talking about! My time management skills are constantly being tested and challenged. I keep trying to squeeze time in for ever single one of my projects. I have found, however, that focusing on one thing at a time is the best thing to do for me. I have to do one step at a time, otherwise I get all jumbled up, trip over myself and fall over.

I am laughing reading your post because I remember so well tripping over myself!!! I once udpated a site 3 times in a row with the same info! I finally got up from the computer to take a break.

I know exactly what you mean. For a while I lost sight of what really makes the money for me and spread myself too thin. I was spending very little quality time on everything. I decided to narrow it down to my one money-maker and keep up with myLot also. Everything else is pretty much out the door. This way I can concentrate where it's needed.

It really does take time to run your own website. You have to spend time updating , checking and even checking emails to continue running a website. Really from experience owning a website isn't that great and it is not worth the time you put into a site to try earning from it , unless you have a good way of earning money from your site. I currently own 2 websites , well three but that one is not really active. Its driving me crazy these days , i have no time!!! That reminds me , i need to go update one of my sites.

Youre always so funny, Homer! But what you say is true, there is never enough time.

Having too many irons in the fire can really be counterproductive. I belong to so many programs that it's hard to keep track of them. I think it's best to just focus on a few things. I has some free websites that I lost track of and haven't updated in ages (just updated two). I'm learning to clean house and just concentrate on the ones I'm making money on. It can be a slow process to build up everything. I've been at this for two years and only just in the last few months have I been able to see real results but that's partly because of my own laziness before. It does take a lot of time.

I appreciate and sure others do too, your honest post. Sometimes it takes 2+ years to really learn your niche or whatever it is we are supposed to be doing. I have only been at this 6 months and was getting discouraged. But spending time here on mylot is teaching me alot about patience and what things NOT to waste my time on!!!

I know exactly what you mean! I have 2(sometimes 3) partime jobs which take me away from my computer. I started last year in march and did my first blog in the summer. Then once I started getting paid I did the second one and by then I had gotinto upgrades and promoting. I set a timetable to do things but then something happens - like in the beginning of december when my computer packed up and I was without it for 5 days! Then with the holidays I got way behind. I thought I would have sometime this week to catch up on the 'weeding-out' but I got called into the third job (relief receptionist in an hotel) and as I shall be away in UK the last week of the month I guess I shall getupdated in february! It's fun but to do it properly it is like a job and takes time and deidication. When the cents start adding up to full dollars it makes it all worthwhile though!

Like she said above, concentrate on one thing at a time. What are you trying to do? What is most important to you right now? Lets start with these questions first and that will give you more direction. You have made a good decision by joining mylot and there are lots of mylotters who will HELP you! By that I mean really help and not try to push their products down your throat. I am here to make money but I also dont mind helping others.
