Will gas prices ever decrease?

Expensive Gas Prices - This is an example of how ridiculous gas prices have increased.

For how many years gas prices have gone up and down. It has to be stressful for those that have to travel miles let's say an average of 20 to 30 miles just to make it on time. Imagine to pump in $40 to $60 just for a full tank. It is even tough for those that own a V8 or V10 vehicle - because how fast gas drains. An average month a person can put in $150 to $200 a month on gas alone - but then again it can be more. For this year and to come it is not going to be pretty either - since now gas is an average of $3.30 a gallon - that's regular alone. Those that pump in premium will be putting in close to $4.00 per gallon. By 2009 it will be close to $4.00 or even higher. It's ridiculous, I understand people's pain - because here if there is one place that has the cheapest gas price - don't expect to wait a short time - it is so pack that not even people have enough room to get in and have to move on to the next nearest gas station. Even people I know have just made a decision just to take transportion such as the bus or trolley stations which of course is cheaper to travel. So how many of you are hurting because of gas prices?

I don't think they will. They certainly won't go down to 99 cents like it was many years ago.

Yes I hear you on that one - even if it is just $2.99 - it's much relieving just to see a "2" on the gas price list.

It is getting hard to be able to fill the car up with gas nowadays most of the time I only fill it to the halfway mark as it is to expensive to fill it all the way up. When you only make $6 an hour it cost more for me to get to work than what I make at work! I am thinking about walking to work when the weather gets nicer just to save on the gas!

Yes I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes just to give my vehicle a rest - because where I work is about a good 15 to 20 miles - sometimes I'll just take the bus to work if I am only doing computer work in the office and which doesn't involve using my van to do computer pickups or repairing parts.

My husband drives 68 miles round trip to work 5 days a weeks, he has a high performance car that gets excellent gas mileage (roughly 25 mpg), but uses premium gas. He goes through a tank a week (including driving around on the weekend) and it is currently costing $45 a week. If he was not using premium, it would be roughly $15 less. I believe that some people that complain about the cost of gas, do not drive automobiles are are efficient. Personally, if you drive a SUV that is not fuel efficient or eco-friendly, you do not have room to complain that you just pumped $80 worth of gas and it will only last you 4 days. That is your fault for buying that type of automobile knowing the cost of gas has been going up.

Your comment was very harsh - and that is not very helpful either. I am posting that there are people who own vehicles that do take up gas - and the vehicle that I own does not take up gas at all. I own a Ford Windstar LX Van - and the gas that I use can last up over a week or two - I spend an average of $80 a month - which is not bad at all.

My personal car is a sedan, I might put in $30 a gas a month. I am lucky because I live nearmy job. I realize that some people with small cars (like my husband) do drive a long way a spend more on gas. However, regardless if it is helpful or not, many of the people who get really upset over gas are those who use a lot of it for no good reason other than they like be autos. The rising cost of gas in something that everyone is aware of and will happen. Will the cost go down, maybe but only once more people start using hybrid cars and more fuel efficient autos. In essence many of those who complain are causing the problem. Personally, I believe that large SUVs, Vans (not min vans), trucks should only be for commercial use. There are very few reasons that a regular person would need a very large auto and many that own them just use them to drive to and from work, what a waste!

i think that gas prices will keep rising because of the limited supply of oil. it's getting harder and harder to find and oil. oil is a limited resource. in some point in time, oil will be depleted and we humans have to find a way to replace oil with something else like ethanol and other alternative energy products that are being develop to keep us independent from oil. if you want to make money from this rising price of oil, you should invest in oil companies that keep drilling and exploring for oil and natural gas.

I do not think so,that the gas price will decrease, even in my country that have produce the petrolum ,It is getting hard to be able to fill the car up with gas nowadays most of the time I only fill it to the halfway mark as it is to expensive to fill it all the way up,also sometime the gas is rare in that station and the price is going higher and higher. I am thinking about using bicycle to work when the weather gets nicer just to save on the gas and not make polution to keep our earth clean!

They will keep jumping up and down, they decrease and quickly increase once again. I don't see gas prices remaining steady at all, and don't think I will. I hope that gas prices lower and become fairer atleast in the $2's rather than the $3's. Gas prices are rising more and more, I find it insane and it is affecting alot of people. Gas prices are having me debate going places because the gas is higher or I'll quickly run out. It is currently up to a high $3.17, $3.11 at the lowest where I am!

It really is frustrating. It seems the oil companies have us by the balls, forcing us to throw them our money. What's needed is the collective effort of EVERYONE to shift to automobiles that consume less gasoline, such as electric- or hydrogen-powered vehicles. That ought to put the oil companies out of business!

Oh Hunnie! At $3.30 you have it good lololol! I live in South Eastern Ontario Canada and we are paying almost a $1.10 per litre. Now I know you folks in the US use gallons. Just so you get an idea, one of your gallons equals 3.78 litres SO.... Right now I am paying approxiamtely $4.16 a gallon now. AND people are saying that within 8 months we'll be up to $1.40 a litre so $5.29 a gallon. So feel lucky my friend!

I think it'll be so difficult. As you know, the energy in the world only gets decreasing because it can't grow by itself. Due to it, the price will go higher and higher.

I work out of town and drive a car that is considered good on gas. Still it is killing me as my paycheck does not increase and yet everything is increasing because of the high cost of gas. I do try to limit my driving on days off from work and plan my errands so as not to waste any. What is disgusting is the kids that just joyride around the people that drive big trucks and vans just because they actually can afford it. I work at a gas station and I don't see the prices coming down anytime soon.....maybe a few cents but then they'll go right back up. Everyone needs to cut back and not just those that are forced to.

Im not hurting since i don't own a car, but very much is hurting from the increasement in gas price. Today the gas price in sweden lies around 12:40kr per Liter, or 7.1$ per gallon (95 octane petrol) because of taxes and stuff. The record in highest gas price in Sweden is around 13kr, or 7.5$ per gallon. That was during last years summer season. If the gas price rises it's seriously going to cripple businesses and people if they can't find any alternative fuels. just taste it, 7.1$ per gallon, its madness. Since the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the oil prices have risen and im doubtfull that they will drop back to pre-war levels. Hopefully nothing would happen to Saudiarabia, or else the price would skyrocket, i know there exists other places there raw oil can be found but know near the quantities being pumped up in Saudiarabia.
