White lies or truth that hurts?

Sometimes our partners lie to us, and it hurts really everytime we find out from others or find out in the end from their slip of the tongue. But they would often reason out that if they told us directly that time, we would get hurt even more so they just decided to make white lies. Pretending that nothing really happened for our own good, at least that's what they say. Are you convinced with this? Me, I felt betrayed.. wish I hadn't known at all. It just hurts.. a lot
