Dresses or pants?

I love dresses and skirts. They make me feel more sensual, beautiful and more feminine. I love a skirt floating around me in the breeze. I love how comfortable they are - not the hard material of jeans but silk, or silky cotton even velvet. I love how they match my long, flowing hair and long legs. I can be artsy in them. They show off my curves well. I can be myself.
Most people like jeans for themselves - and sometimmes for their women - more casual - what about you - what do you prefer.

I have to admit I pretty much live in jeans but I really love putting on a skirt or dress when I get the chance. My legs are one of my best features so I like to show them off in the hopes the rest of me won't be so noticeable...lol

I love my legs although they are not what most people want in their own legs. I like my legs to be strong not scrawny. I had an ex boyfriend who was a trainer and he would get irritated when scrawny girls with stick legs came in and said - oh I can't do weight training I'll get too big - impossible unless they had a high testosterone level or they ate like mega protein.
I bet you wearing a skirt has even more effect BECAUSE you wear jeans most of the time. People aren't used to seeing you in a skirt.

Its funny - I thought it was a headless matronly woman - the head - the bosom and the caption and such her apron. lol

I can understand that. Gaucho pants, if you like the style, can give you a sense of both.

It's a long story why, but until I was 12, I was not allowed to wear pants or shorts. So during those twelve years all I wanted to do was wear jeans. Well, more than a decade has gone by, and frankly if I could afford it, I would prefer to wear pretty dresses again. Of course not all the time, but a lot of the time. Strangely enough, it's hard for me to find ANY dresses. It's all skirts in the stores now, no non prom dresses.

I always shop in thrift stores anyway. I can find more interesting artsy clothes. They do have dresses. I like skirts though better anyway. I can't seem to find very many skirts and dresses with either simple or no pattern. Its seems the cutest clothes are reserved for the tiny.

My sister's school never allowed it. My mom wouldn't have it though in the middle of a harsh winter so she'd send my sister to school with jeans underneath her dress.

I love my jeans. I don't like dresses and I don't like the feel of silk. I love the feel of cotton. If I were to wear a dress I would be too self conscious to feel pretty or feminine.

I love the feel of cotton too - very soft - and silk makes me perspire more - and I rarely perspire unless I'm really really warm - later then when others perspire - or really nervous!

I wear them - I wear tights underneath a pair of legging pants and I'm warm - warmer then most pants because the material is so close to my legs!

And if it weren't clear - the dress or skirt goes on top.

tights under skirt looks awesome...and yet nicely proper for the season... i admire Fran Drescher's tight skirts and leggings in "The Nanny"...LOL

well, i like dresses, skirts and pants....LOL...however due to convenience, i usually wear pants for work. however, i agree that dresses and skirts are equally nice, especially, if one wants to feel feminine and sexy...:-D

We have to go with our own style and what makes us comfortable. I'd love to wear red, in some cultures red is considered a symbol for luck. And it seems like such a vibrant color - but it seems it so bright, it would call attention to me. :)

I've always preferred skirts to jeans or pants. But my husband, on the other hand feels that wearing a skirt would make me look like Indonesians. No offense about this race, but he just doesn't like me looking like one of them. He said he likes me wearing pants because it makes me look like a Malaysian. Such a weird opinion, I guess. But nevertheless I have been following his ideas because I am afraid what he told me might be true. Not that Indonesians look ugly or anything, maybe he is trying to say I look better in jeans and pants. He doesn't know how to put it into good words, I suppose.
However I really want to wear skirts while going out. In fact I am dreaming of wearing them. I know I would look nice wearing skirts, but how come my husband doesn't like me in them? I think I should take the opinion of others and most probably the people from the same gender. Women understand women a lot better, don't we?

Yes but even better then another person's opinion is your own. You seem intelligent I haveno doubt you can decide this on your own. Maybe you can take your husband with you shopping and compromise by letting him choose a few skirts.

I have never liked dresses and skirts. I have always been a jeans and t-shirts type of girl. I am comfortable that way and plan to stay that way. When I was young my Stepmother used to dress me in these God awful frilly things that would make me gag. Maybe that's why I don't like them.

Oh I don't like frilly foo foo things either. I like pretty or feminine but nothing over the top! I prefer artsy to foo foo.
