did they film it during the writers strike?

i dont know whats going on, but it feels like there is no story line and there is really nothing going on, does anyone know if they filmed this season while the writers are on strike? tonite's episode did nothing really to further the story line or keep me interested.. bette/tina no progress, shane/no progress, bette/jody no progress, at least last season there were some difinitive story lines and there was progress made on every episode.. i mean there has been no explanation as to max's progress, no mention of papi at all, just poof she's gone. i HATE that there are no other avenues for gay shows online, my girlfriend and i have always loved QAF, and thought the Lword would be a similar line of show, something for us to relate to, something we could focus on as a representation of our life.. what are your opinons?
