Depending on what kind of hotel it is? Like what are the theme colors of the hotel. For just a basic hotel clerk I would suggest you go with black pants / skirt. (leave that option up to the employee as I am sure there are girls and guys doing this. Get a nice dress slack. Something that is comfortable and will make everyone feel comfortable. Big or small it doesn't matter. Black is also very slimming. Take white dress blouses not shirts unless you have guys working there go with dress shirt. You can pick from tons and tons of different white blouses/shirts that look great. Go with a nice black overcoat. They can be anything from blazers to a nice form fitting little black jacket for women as men won't wear them. In my experience of different hotels I have noticed alot of hotels wearing ties. Doesn't matter if it a girl or guy. But it just brings it out. You can pick a nice baby blue or whatever you like. It will also set if off very nice. You don't have to choose a tie, but if there are males working there pick a solid white shirt and have them wear a tie. If it's just female pick a white base shirt with some flare but make sure it is acceptable. If you can give me some additional information about the hotel. What kind of a hotel? How many guests it holds up to? Is it busy? What are all the departments you need uniforms for? Front desk? Bell hop? Etc.

I am not into fashion but I suggest you follow whats the uniform of the whole office. The color must at least be relative to the color of the office. If the office deals with business dealings a formal suit will be alright, if it is a hotel or resort something colorful will be alright.

i think you need to look at a style that would suit every size and shape on your staff.either pants with a nice shirt and jacket or blazer.or skirts with the same top and blazer.if you give them the option of a few combinations that are all uniform.even a nice stylish dress with a blazer would look professional.cheers sue
