What's the snow outlook in your area? How much do you have now?

Here in Boston we have been hit hard! It's 28 degrees but they say it "feels like" (I love that! feels like)...16! The snow is falling at 1-2 inches per hour and we are expecting 5-10 inches by the time it is over. Since they started calling of school for today last night around 7pm I knew I didn't want to look out the window when I woke up this morning and for a change the weather people were right.
Are you in a state that missed this one or did it get you too? How much snow do you have if you do and what are they saying about it?

Here in the Hudson Valley, it is 33 inches and we have about 4 inches of very wet snow. Unfortunately, the weatherman keeps making us these promises about the amount of snow that we are going to get and they always underestimate. It is very disappointing.
Ok, I like the snow, I like to play with it and I don't even mind driving with it..though it does mean that I will have to leave for work early today. I will give it another 15 minutes I guess.

Well, I'm happy you two enjoy it because I can't hate snow enough. It's horrible to have to walk through although when I drove I never had a problem. Now that I'm on foot I have to be careful about slipping and falling.

Rigjht now here in Minnesota I still have just over a foot of snow
left on the fround. Possibly an inch tomorrow. Temps are going to
be below zero again at night with higs in the single digits. So
we've got the snow and the cold here as usual. We had gotten maybe 2 inches early in the week last week is all.

The kids are the happiest since school closings were broadcast early last night. We were having some great weather until last night and now that's over!

I'm in New York and it's really coming down up here by the Border (US/Canada). 1/2 last time I looked and it had just started. Glad my husband bought four-wheel drive. Not sure what they're saying, never applies to us anyway, we get more or less than the rest do. Also we have weather that sometimes has nothing in common with the rest of the state, so I don't worry about what they say unless they say, "The weather along the Canadian Border is or will be . . .." Take care

We're at 2 inches right now. My husband is late coming home from work. He's got a Ford 4x4 truck, thank goodness. Trying not to worry.

Wow. That's a lot of snow! I live in Florida so, we don't ever have snow. I hate the cold so, I have no desire what so ever to live where it snows. I don't see how people are able to take the cold.

No snow here yet. None coming until Sunday. That's what the forecast states. But it is bone chilling cold. Feels like 19 with the wind chill. Our last big snowfall was December.Sounds like its harsh where you are. Make some hot chocolate and try to enjoy it. It can be beautiful.

Oh yes...it's nice to look at but I don't like to go out in it! I had to run or should I say slide to the store and the snow was up to my knees. All my clothes are now hanging in the bathroom and my boots in the tub. I hate it.

I live in Winterpeg. That is what we call our city of Winnipeg. We have tons and tons of snow. Piles and piles everywhere. If they didn't haul the snow away from the street cleaning, there would be no room on the sidewalks to walk. They would have to put it all on the sidewalks and curbs. It is very cold here, with the windchill it has been around 45 to 49 below celcious.

Yesterday we actually just had a light covering of snow, an inch or so maybe that actually ended up doing some melting before the day was over. This morning when we woke up, everything was covered in snow. I say we had a few inches of the white stuff which surprised me because I didn't think we were supposed to get that much. I got ready and diligently went to class however, even though I would have rather climbed back into bed and stayed there.

It started snowing today 1-2 inches think I think. It's been snowing most of the day and is suppose to stop later this pm. My son is going to love it when he gets home from school.

whoa, that looks serious!
I'm enjoying reading all these winter discussions cos I feel somewhat connected to these places that you are describing and have such intimate knowledge of the weather!
I'm in a tropical country one degree north of the equator so no snow for me. just heavy torrential rain every afternoon!

The average temp in January is around 75F.( from South Texas USA 20 minutes from Mexico, McAllen, Texas, USA.) Haven't had snow in January for around a hundred years. I just harvested Bananas from the tree in the back yard and the Grapefruit tree is still Loaded with Rio Red Grapefruit. Life is good without a snowshovel! No body ever mentions anything about snow here. If there was any possibility of snow whatsoever, they would close the interstate instantly.

Thankfully, ctry, we only got a dusting of snow overnight, but more is expected in a couple of days. I just hope it holds off until I make my doctors appointment tomorrow and get some groceries in the house. I watched the early news this morning and they really got a good one in Hartford. I don't mind the snow-as long as I don't have to go out in it.

Hubby and I were raised in an area where we either had a little to no snow or we had so much that we were stuck in the house for days at a time. We're soooo glad we're not there anymore!! LOL Neither of us liked the snow because it's too cold and too wet. Now if it were one or the other and not both, it might not be so bad but it's both and because of that, we hated it. Besides, it's so dangerous to walk on and even more so when it turns to ice. North Carolina is the place to be!! lol
