I think everyone watches to much tv. I also believe that it depends on what they are watching. I know when I was in school we watched alot of videos in science, history, and english. So there is some that is educational. I pay close attention to what they watch, but definately encourage them to go outside. Usually during the summer they are always outside with sports going on. My biggest problem I have is my oldest son always wanting to play the video game. Sometimes I tell myself if there is anything that my son gets addicted to it would be video games. and i'm ok with that.

That really all depends on the parent. If the child is sitting in front of the tv all day then it's the parents fault. They are the ones that are allowing it to go on. In the summer time my daughters really don't watch tv as they love to be outside. They maybe watch an hour or two a day. My oldest daughter doesn't really bother too much with the tv as she likes to be keeping busy. She plays alot and loves to do crafts with her grandma. My moms the big craft person and she loves doing them as well. She loves to spend time with grandpa fixing things like the car. And loves to play with her uncle. She loves when he comes and picks her up during the day and takes her out in the big truck or one of the tractors / loaders etc.

I think everyone spends too much time in front of the TV, that is why I do not watch it. Things will change in 2009 when they switch to digital and the poor people will not be able to watch TV anymore. The the kids will have to start reading and playing games etc again. Imagine how their world will change. I hope it will be for the better and that it helps them do better in school!!

I definately think kids spend too much time watching t.v. My two kids will sit there all day if we let them. We now have a rule in our house that between 10am and 5pm t.v's are switched off. They have so many toys to play with there is no need for t.v.
