A few months back, after almost 10 years of being single, she announced she has a boyfriend. Not just that but she had been seeing him already for about 4 months. Kept it quiet, just incase she decided she didn't like him. Turns out he is the X of a past fellow employee at the hospital. Well, slowly we all met him. He was at my talbe for Thanksgiving with her and at the big family x-mas gathering. He seems pretty nice and gets along well with everyone. One of my brothers even works at the same place he does. He likes square dancing and has taken her with him several times. Well, now today I get an e-mail, she is taking round dancing lessons. This from a woman who broke her pelvic bone about 8 years ago falling off of a parade float. She had to learn how to walk all over again. I sewar...I think my mom is going through her teens again. I'm sure she's in love, I can see it on her face and hear it in her voice. My mom is 65+ and swore she'd never be with another man for any reason. LOL Never say Never!!!!!!

For a long time I thought, "I don't want to be like her when I reach that age". But now lately, I think senior years might not be so bad.

don't know how old you are darlin', but I'm 53 and let me tell you, life gets better and better. I love being this age and I love also that no one ever tells me I look it. I happen to be happily married for almost 12 years now, and thank god I'm not out there, you know? But if things were different, I'd be as open as a book to the gift of love.

Aw that's really lovely. I hope when I'm her age I can start all voer again. There's nothing worse than believing the hype that life is over at 40! It's great to think that if my whole life goes crap, at least somewhere along the line love can still get you, you can still learn new thigns & have a good time. Good on your Mum, she sounds fab! Nica x

It sounds like she is enjoying herself and you must be glad that she is. I find that people in their 60's tend to forget about the things they enjoy doing and if this person is bringing out all that in her, he must be a great guy! All the best for your mother:)

She was happy before meeting him, or so she said, but I think she is happier now.

Aww! I think it's great that your mom is going out and falling in love again. She needs to feel like a kid again. It's great that the guy is a nice guy, I hope he keeps on treating her well. You're right, never say never.

Never say never is right! Bravo for your mom - I'm so happy for her and her man. I happen to believe that the more you love, the more you are capable of loving, so if you love once, you can surely love again. How wonderful that your mother still has or has renewed faith in love. There's nothing better. I hope you will take a cue from her and always keep your heart open, even after it's been broken. And the dancing? That's too cool for school. I think that dancing makes you ageless and lightens and lifts you, as does singing. God bless your mother and your self. She is an inspiration whether or not she knows it - her new love and attitude will affect so much around her in increasingly positive ways, like a ripple effect. Please tell her thanks from all of us.

Oh she will be so tickled pink when I tell her about your reply. She'll say, "me, an inspiration!". yes, she is. They both attend church and she is the seniors Sunday school teacher at her church so they have been attending services at his and Sunday school at hers. Now isn't that just the cutest thing?!! She even says the Sunday School ladies new something was up with her because she alwys went out to lunch with the group but was bowing out more oftena dn oh so chipper. They have a spouses/significant others lunch once a month and she said after a couple months she invited him. She was being sneaky too. They never had a date in the towns us kids live in, didn't want to be seen. Now that the cat is out of the bag they are seen evrywhere together. Its just sooo cute!!

Isn't it great to see that life has no age? It's great that she can still enjoy life...so many ppl get to that age and sit around waiting to die. My Mom is in her 60's and she still acts like a kid sometimes. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I am a firm believer that your state of mind has got a lot to do with what you can do physically. There are limits of course. But most people don't push themselves anywhere near those limits.
