I am 31 years old and I have roughly $4000 in Legos. Oh, did I mention that everyone around me thinks I'm weird and childish? AFOL: Adult Fans Of Legos. A lot of us are criticized as just that; childish and weird because we enjoy entertaining ourselves with those wonderful little building blocks. I've tried to explain that they aren't just a toy, they are a tool for helping to exercise your imagination and develop spacial awareness. All I ever get back are blank stares and rolled eyes. Worst of all, I live in the boonies and because of that, I can never find anyone else that's interested in the same things! So here's my thought. If you are an AFOL, go to http://www.meetup.com/ and sign up. Create an AFOL club in your area, share ideas and HAVE FUN!!!

I'm 45 now. My 4 kids are grown now, but that's ok, the Legos aren't theirs anyway. They are mine. Of course, being a good dad, I shared my legos with the kids. But when they left home, the legos stayed.
I have over 5,000 of those awesome little bricks. To me they are "The Ultimate Transformers" because you can change them from anything to anything.

I am 51 and I still play with legos. I got started in 1990 when I bought my kids their first lego set, which I still have. They outgrew them and now they buy me legos. In fact, for Christmas I got the new lego castle, the new airport, the holiday train, and a the prisoner carriage of the new castle set. Oh, I also get the Lego Advent Calendar every Christmas. My favorite theme is castle but I also have pirate, adventurers, city, harry potter, and some of the sports stuff like skateboarding and snowboarding. I do lego displays at the school where I teach. See my latest mylot discussion by checking my profile. I have a picture of a display I did in 2003. Keep on bricking!
