Went to an IPRC Meeting for my son this morning

What is an IPRC you ask.... Individual Program Review Committee This committee meets once a year to review a special needs child's progress and current needs in order to better serve and educate the child and to make a legal document to outline goals and strengths and weaknesses. My son is in Junior Kindergarten so we met today to discuss these things and it went very well! They are going to work on his social skills, fine motor, attention span and dressing. This was our first time attending one of these and I was concerned but it actually went wuite well :) A really good start to my day!!! So, What was the best part of your day and why?

That's great heaven! The best part of my day was when I realized my son "knew" to say please and thank you. He's very polite for his age, I've heard him say it before but normally someone encourages it (like myself) or he says it not long after someone tells him she should. although, today he just came out and said "wave grandma", "please" he got his wave and then he said "thank you gandma" and blown her a kiss. It's moments like that which make me realize he's the best thing in this world. (not like I didn't before) you'll get me.... LOL ~Joey

I'm often the same, especially when I hear cute stories about other peoples kids. They bring so much joy into the world, I find it hard to understand how anyone can't embrace this feeling. For me it just comes natually, but I am a softy when it comes to being a clown for a childs amusement! lol "I truly appreciate things like this because of my son...I cherish all of the little things!"

I can't really pick a best part of today. It was horrible and busybut it was O.K because I got to spend the day with my husband before he left for Fort Lewis.

He'll be gone at least a MONTH. He has to go find a hous e for the rest of us. This way we don't have to stay in a motel while we look for one. He's only been gone a few hours but I guess it's the knowing I won;t see him this weekend like when he was driving truck.

The best part of my day was when I woke up! My husband was home for his first day of vacation. I seems sometimes that we get so caught up in our everyday lives that we dont have much time to spend together. Now that he will be home for a week, we can catch up on some "us" time. YAY!!!

I did not have a best part of the day. We went out shopping, did not buy anything, but we looked. I was on myLot, worked in my novel, brought up the laundry, made breakfast, lunch and dinner. I practiced my voice lessons -singing, not talking. But I did not do any teacher's meetings, or did anything noble. But I do love going to the Mall, and window shopping even if it is with my husband and he is more interested in power tools. I love getting out and that is the best part of my day. Oh and I uploaded photos of my granddaughter.

Hi heavenschild, I really 'need' to respond to this before going to bed. I definitely want to unwind here tonight! I'm so happy to hear that your meeting was successful.:) Am looking forward to hearing a 'more detailed report,' regarding this.;) As for the best part of my day, well, it was finding out that my daughter was 'still sitting in KFC,' after 8:00 p.m. Please see my 'latest discussion' for more info. Take care. xxx

I think that is wonderful sweety and I am glad that it went well for you! I know that over here we have what they call 'Staged Intervention' programmes - my youngest has been on one of these and is reviewed at the moment about 3 times a year - reviews are given depending on the needs of a child - and it is a wonderful programme! I am so glad that your son is getting the help that is needed and also that it is giving you some support and back up! xxx
