My Husband and I were both off today!

This is a rare treat for us! :)
We work opposite shifts because of our son and rarely see each other...Besides this my husband leaves in the middle of the night to go to work and is often already sleeping when I get home from work!
WE went to the mall today and out for lunch and had a very enjoyable day!
So, how much time (quality time) do you spend with your Husband or S/O each day/week?
What do you most enjoy doing together?

My father was off today too, I didn't even get told. well, until I heard him on the phone and I was like "who's that" lol... (he's normally at work, he hates having time off for the sake of it yet decided to book the day off)
I'm sure you both enjoyed the time, I used to hate walking all day when I first met my wife. Recently I'm able to see her at least for few hours during the day, I'd hate to be in a position where I couldn't see much of her. (especially hard not seeing my son)
I just enjoy being together, it's the little things which make bigger moments in my life and when I'm in one of those awkward moods where I have to be alone. I feel down after, especially when I don't allow my family be around me for awhile.

(I'm am a private person at times) Don't like giving people the sign I'm having problems, depression can be a sucker. =)

The only day my husband has off each week is Monday but my day(s) off vary...
As I said we work opposite shifts and I ofgtenmissputting my son to bed at night and eatting dinner with my family...
My son spends his mornings (Monday - Friday) either in school or with his therapist and thenI often work from 1:30 or 2:30 until anywhere between 7 and 9pm...
My husband usually goes to bed when my son does due to the fact that he starts work at 3AM...It is hard for us but we are doing what we have to do right now...
I am hoping to be able make money from home this year and be able to leave my job...This will give us more time together as a family! :)

I am so glad that you had a good time together sweety - you both deserve it! I know how hard it can be as I was in the same position with my other half before I had to stop wprk. Nowadays I am here all the time so we spend all the time together when he isn't at work - it tends to make us take each other for granted now I think - it is good to be reminded how it used to be! Hugs xxx

We are lucky to get in 10 or 15 minutes on most days. He works a swing shift and is off every other fri-mon. I work 2nd shift and get of Tuesday and Wednesday. But I work Sunday morning, so we get every other Sunday evening.
We sometimes just want to sit and talk

We also both like Monk and House...and will sometimes make a point of waiting so we can watch the recordings of these show together. If you skip the commercials, most shows are real short.

I can appreciate the sitting and talking as that is so important and hard to fit in when you are passing like ships in the night! :)

Congrats on getting to spend some quality time with your husband. My fiancee and I are in the same boat as I work third and she was working second shift. She would stay up kind of late while I was at work so we could text each other some and then when I got home she would be asleep so I would sleep with her until it was time for her to wake up and get ready for work, which I would get up and take her and then I would come back home until time to pick her. Then I would have to go straight to work. It was so hard finding any time to spend together and on the weekends we had so much house work to do that we might get one good day to spend together if nothing messed it up. She is between jobs right now so we have been able to spend more time together which has been great, I didn't realize how much the two of us had missed each other. I'm hoping that with her next job we will have it figured out to where we can get a little more quality time together.

My Husband works six days a week and I work five but I never know when my days off will be as they vary week to week...
I do hope that with her new position it will allow for you to spend more time together! :)

Me and my boyfriend don't see each other much either. He leaves for work around 5:30am, me around 8am (depending on what time I have to be at work). He gets home around 7pm, me almost 8pm. We have dinner and then go to bed. I work every other weekend, he has weekends off. We both usually have Mondays off together so those are our days. We are both taking Feb. 14th off for a vac. day, so I am looking forward to that. We haven't spent a Valentines day together in a long while. When we are both off we just enjoy lounging around together, because both of us work such long hours and we don't get much lounging time.

Wow that must be hard. For me and my husband with him in the military he is away a lot and so I may not see him for months and then he is home for a couple of weeks straight and we go out and have a lot of fun. It's nice because its like a vacation everytime he comes home from a long deployment and we are able to better enjoy our time together. He's gone all this week for work but we have a date when he gets back to go out for dinner and a comedy act.

It is hard at times but we spend as much time together as we can and take advantage of days like today while our son is in school! :)
I would have a hard time with your life as well...At least I get to hold my husband each night when I go to bed...Even if he is asleep and leaves in the middle of the night...He is with me for a bit any way!
S glad that you have plans for when your husband comes home :)
Enjoy yourself!

We really enjoy going out to Tim Hortons and having coffee, donuts, or something else, plus soup. Usually we have to rush home when we are out shopping - I cannot understand why, I am not into lunch that much - we are both retired, well he is. I have been a homemaker most of our married life.
But we are watching out budget so going out for lunch at our favorite place, Tim Horton's and not just for coffee is a rare opportunity.
