How does a song compare to your life?

A song is composed of notes that when put together sound harmonious. But when listened to individually, these notes don’t amount for anything. It is only with a master’s skillful hands and ears that these notes are combined for produce beautiful and melodious music. The same is true with life. Life has different episodes, divided into years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, or seconds. The smallest measure of our lives does not really amount to anything but the best life has all these smallest episodes combined to produce one beautiful life. Like music that becomes beautiful in the hands of a master, so do our lives is the hand of its Master, or our Creator. When the Lord composes our lives, then our lives will become a beautiful song, melodious to the hearing of people, of heavenly hosts, and of God Himself. If we live our lives not according to God’s will, plan and purpose for our lives, we don’t make music, we produce noise. So our lives are not ours to live, but we live it up according to God’s perfect will. The same is true with music. If we just tinker with the keys of a piano without following the notes, we will not produce music but noise and the listeners will not appreciate what we do. Additionally, music should only be performed or done by people who know what music is all about. I am not a musician, so you can’t ask me to play the guitar or the keyboard, for I won’t be able to produce music, only stuttering notes that will most likely constitute noise. The same is true with our lives. We should not allow others to run our lives for us, but only God, for He knows what’s best. He is our Creator. I remember one saying that goes, “If at first you don’t succeed, read the manual.” If you don’t know how to make music, read your music book. But only those who know music can read the music book and interpret them into melodies. Our lives are the same, only the Creator knows how to run our lives best because He created us. He made the manual for our living, which is the bible, and it is just plain crazy to look up to magazines and the TV for examples in running our lives. No wonder most of our lives turn out to be noise and not wonderful music. May we all learn from the lessons of life that music bring to all of us. What about you? What do you think?

first of all i admire your precise comparison between music and life. you are right, if we do not follow the will of our Creator our life will be meaningless - or worse, a nuisance to other people. a song, for me, must strive to be come an inspiration to other people. it must reflect true emotions and real life situations in order to touch the hearts of the listeners. i want my life to become an inspiration and a blessing to everyone around me. most of all, i want to live a life which my Creator will be pleased with and will give glory to His name

First of all, a song compares to my life in the way that my life has its ups and downs, just like in a song. A song has high and low tunes, depends on the song but that's my life's song...

aside from having a beginning and an end, my life is like a song that triggers a lot of emotions.
