so last night im walking down the road on my way to work.. as im walking down the sidewalk a woman is approaching me walking in the opposite direction as me.. shes chatting on a cell phone.. as she walks by me she says hello and i assumed it was on the phone since she wasnt having a conversation previous to that.. anyways i didnt think the hello was to me so i didnt respond.. normally id be the one to say hi to a stranger and have no problems saying hi back for sure.. anyways i didnt say hi back to this lady on the cell phone walking by me.. so the girl starts telling whoever on the phone that she just said hi to someone walking by her and 'he didnt even say hi back'.. so i clue in that she was saying hi to me and said hi back (though she was already past me now) and she responds with 'oh no dont try and say hello now after you know im mad' and kept walking.. as did i.. but like wtf? am i the only one who thinks shes a bit crazy? hehe have you ever had a strange run in with a stranger?

That was soo ugly of her. Maybe she was having a bad day. Mine was scary, and here it goes: Was walking down the street, head up then a strange lady comes hurriedly towards me and plants a kiss on my mouth! Gosh what a scary scenerio. some men were following her at a close distance. When they saw what she did to me, they felt disgusted and hurried past her spitting all over and cursing. When I asked her what she was upto, she said she was defending herself from those men coz they wanted to assault her. YUCK!

I must have a certain look about me because complete strangers often feel comfortable enough to come up to me and just start talking like we've known each other for decades. People tell me their lives stories, their problems, and all kinds of other crazy things. I've been invited to jump over a fertility bonfire (NO THANK YOU!) by a stranger on the bus. I've had some lady come up to me and tell me that I am special and important (Um Ok)... I've had a guy come up to me and tell me that these mortals just don't understand us and the things we suffer... (Last time I checked I was mortal...) There have been other crazy things but I don't remember them all.

RAbbit - crazy rabbit
lol i am a strange person magnet. As you may know. I'm glad that i dont take the bus anymore in halifax. I had some crazy people sit next to me and start talking to me untill i started wearing my headphones and bringing a book. HOLY. One day a fairly well-known ex-coke dealer sits down beside me and started talking to be about how he was coming from rehabilitation and how he was going so he could see his daughter. And then he started telling me how he was shot in the leg, and then proceeded to show me the bullet wound, healed up mind you, but still gross none the less. Anyways tells me he's going tanning in the salon by my stop. i so waited till he got off the bus before i got off. i stayed on a few extra stops and walked the long way. Crazy strangers!

yes that gal has issues. She probably just needs attention or something to talk to her friend about. anyway, anyone who is on the phone and trys to say hi to random strangers is strange. and you have every right to ignore her. i've never had strange run ins of this sort, but of course there are the really mad people who have this crazed look in their eyes who is shouting at everyone randomly. those i definitely steer clear of. would even walk to the opposite side of the road just so i don't get yelled at for nothing.

we have one of those guys in this town!! he doesnt really yell so much.. he whistles and sings at the girls though and talks to himself the rest of the time.. he also washes all the windows on the main strip.. all the stores etc.. for free!! and hes quite rude about getting in peoples way etc with his shopping cart full of cleaning supplies.. he swings the broom stick around too (used to clean tall windows) as hes walking down the street so i tend to cross the road when i see him too just so i dont take damages! lol

So, I'm the jerk that's being duped here, but this is really stupid. So what if a stranger says hi to you or not? You obviously know if you are a nice and friendly person, and the stranger doesn't give a care in the world who you are. All I know is I try to be nice to strangers on purpose, if only to see how they react if in particular they get uncomfortable that someone is being nice to them.

haha true true.. i like asking strangers how theyre doing.. as opposed to just a hello.. most will respond 'hi' or hello back as a response.. i get amusement out of that cuz the ones that say 'hello' clearly didnt hear what you said or think before they spoke and the ones that say 'hi' i think must be cuz that didnt answer my question otherwise :D its a minority response for someone to actually answer the question.. even more rare someone ask you back after that and stick around to hear the answer hehe.. in ontaro anyways.. in nova scotia everyone talks to strangers

LOL. You gotta love people like that. And yes she is crazy. How were you suppose to know that she was talking to you. Maybe she was saying hi to a person behind you. Why make yourself look like a fool when you don't know. I don't mind saying hi to people. But I tend to draw the wrong attention. I love the complete strangers that walk up to me and touch me in certain areas and think its ok. You do that don't think I will hesitate to turn around and pop you one. I have done that many times. And will continue to do so until it stops.
