One of the gals I work with just won a bunch on a lottery ticket. She played a game here in Minnesota that is called North Star....she has been having some financial difficulties so everyone was sooooooo excited she won. The initial jackpot was $29,000.00 but after taxes she got about a third of it. She found out on Friday night that she had won and couldn't get to the lottery office until yesterday and everyone was wondering why she had taken the day off. Today she told us. The first thing she did was to pay her house payment and also her nieces house payment for Jan. Then she did a few other things and put most of the money in the bank and is going to mull over what she wants to fix or spend the money on too. Everyone one of us was sooooo happy for her except our boss! They actually didn't even talk to her after she told them why she had taken yesterday off! If you knew someone that finally won something....someone that was close to you, wouldn't you be happy for them? I can't understand why they were so nasty to her the rest of the day!

Hugs to the winner. I only wish I could pull that off but I'm truely happy for her, especially her because she needs the win. What is wrong with people? I love the fact that she told the truth why she'd taken the day off!!!What the hell is wrong with the boss's mind has he no sense for a dollar, was he thinking she could retire on a third of twenty nine thousand dollars ???? Good Grief. ha ha

hi jill! oh wow! that's great to hear...although just now, i learned the explanation why i shouldn't bet in lottery...but just the same, i am glad about your friend, especially that she has financial problems.

Yes I would be thrilled if someone close to me won the lottery especially if the person really needed the money.
Do you think her boss was jealous or maybe he was irritated by the fact she took off work? That's an exciting experience and it seems rather silly to be nasty to the big winner. Please tell her one of our myLot friends says congratulations. I think it's great.

Thanks.....I'll tell her. Besided the fact that she needs the money...the best thing is that she really needed something big to happen in her life! She is a giving and caring person and so good to others! Selfless...it's time she got something back!

Of course I would be happy hearing friend got winning on her game,that's fantastic that she won that much, she can solve her difficulty financial,to pay her house payment.also she can go for shopping. Maybe the people who did not happy was jealous Congratulate her from me. God bless her and all the best.

Sounds like sour grapes to me! I would be so happy for them! I've never known anyone to win a large lottery like that...it would be very cool!

wow! your friend seemed to have been a good girl to be rewarded by Santa with something like that. ^__^ good for her! she's really lucky to have won something like that.
of course i would be happy when someone close to me won over something, especially in a lottery. its a really huge turn of events for someone when that happens and its more fun if it the excitement is shared with other people. maybe your bosses were just jealous of your friend. they're jealous because your friend is lucky and they are not. ^__^

Personally I would be Happy for them if I ever found out someone I knew was to Win the lottery. It would be nice to know someone who won a little bit. We actually had a Taxi driver from where I work who won $10,000 and after Taxes it was $7,000 and I was Happy for him. Personally the only reason I can think someone would be mad is because of being jealous, or feeling that this was not an appropriate reason to miss a day of work like this.

Her boss is an idiot and anyone else that treated her so unkind! Some people are just so jealous of other people's happiness....what a jerk/jerks, and may he/her never win, haha.......give her a big hug for me!

I'm happy for her and I don't know her. That's fantastic that she won that much. Congratulate her for me. You know some people are probably envious at the fact that she won the lottery, and probably wish it was them. They will probably continue on being mean to her because of it. Which is not actually fair because it came as a shock. She should be happy however, so if others don't like what happend to her that is THEIR problem. What is important is that she finally had a chance to pay off what she needed to pay off. God bless her and all the best.

I would be happy for anyone winning that would use the money wisely to get ahead and not just use it all up right away.

Of course I would be happy for my friend. Maybe the boss was jealous. More than likely he/she didn't think it was a valid reason for taking the day off.
