Yes! Doctors actually used to give patients tape worms when they needed to lose weight, later times dating back to even the early 1900s. They had no idea it was so harmful. I watched a show on Animal Planet once where a guy who camped with his wife got sick, and started losing weight. WARNING: MATURE CONTENT: One day after weeks of losing weight, he felt something in his rear when he was on the toilet. He asked his wife to come in and look, and she kept pulling and pulling, until she couldn't pull anymore. She cut it off, and the remaining tiny bit, wriggled back up the guy's rear. He went to the doctor and then got treated for the tape worm.

Yucky, yuck, I just read on Wikipedia that those things could get up to twenty five feet long. I can not even imagine having a baby moving around inside of me. Not, only that, I want to have kids one day, that worm may eat something that I need.

That is just so gross. I have even heard of people who desperately want to lose weight to eat something with a tape worm egg in it, yuck! I am losing weight too and would love to get rid of all of this quicker than its coming off but.. come on! Talk about desperation.

That is bad. I hope your friend is ok. I have never experienced a tapeworm or seen one in person, or know of anyone having one, but i seen oprah had one on her show a while ago! some dr guy had it on there in a jar of fermaldahyde, and the thing was like 16 feet long, it was BIG and white and NASTY looking. I dont think it eats the muscles though, it eats up all your calories and your food, and you loose weight therefor loose muscle and bone mass, cause your not getting your nutrition!

No, and I hope I never experience anything like that. I had a family member get tape worms and she was extremely sick. Just the thought of having anything called 'worms' inside my body grosses me out. I know it's not really wormy, but it just freaks me out, ya know?
