I'm Chinese and working in a local government, there is one handicapped girl whose name is Chuanhong in our town who could never walk any more since she was 3 because of a disease. She is beautiful and worked hard, since her family is very poor and can not afford to a wheelchair, her mother had to take Chuanhong out on her back. One day in 2002, her mother fell down by a rock when took Chuangong out on her back and got a damage on her back so she could never take do some tough work, and Chuangong has to stay at home all day in a very small and dark room.
Chuangong is very brilliant and strong-minded, she cried for many times because of her bad luck but she is always finding a way to earn some money so she will better since she felt she would not be a useless one in the family. One time she found that she could do some artistic needle work, at the beginning she was just doing some little work like roses, small pieces of pictures, then she became to do some difficult work, and in 2006 she became to do the greatest masterpiece----Mona Lisa. When I got to visit her I couldn't believe that she really finished it, she told me that it took her more than 6 months at home doing nothing except sleep and meals. She could hardly see anything clearly because she used her eyes too much.
Many people have seen Chuanhong's works and wanted to buy these, but Chuanhong would not sell them because she could not accept their prices. She thinks that she took so much work on these needle works and she needs to make money for her family, both her parents are old, and she is already 33 in countryside with no boyfriend, she doesn't want her parents to do things for her, she would like to earn money by selling her works, she hopes someone would buy them with a better price which could be equal to her hard work.
I was deeply touched by her heart and her story. During their telling, both Chuanhong and her mother bursted into tears because of so many difficulties in their life, the family is very poor with no furniture.
Chuanhong hopes to make more friends all over the world, and I would like to do this job to tell her story in English to all of you, I hope you could say something to this good and brave girl and I would tell her, I think she will be happy to know that many friends in the world are reading her story on line now.
