Organized or Too Organized...

A few days ago my youngest brother came over and while he was here I showed him my game filing system. I play an online game called Everquest and in the game there are quests and skills you can do. Most ppl just toggle back and forth between the game and the games website to see what you do in the quests or what you need to do certain skills...I don't.
I've printed out the quests for the main area I'm in right now, I have them all labeled and seperated by level and sorted in a drawer of my desk. I also have 2 3-subject notebooks seperated for baking, brewing, alchemy, tailoring, blacksmithing and pottery where I keep the instructions and recipes used for these skills. I also have 3 single subject notebooks...one is for game information and my toon information, the second is for items and their stats in the game and the third is for item pricing for things I sell in the game. I have maps printed and sorted, spell lists for each class and even information sheets on some of the zones.
My brother was surprised at how organized I was and at how much I had done simply b/c to him it's very tedious. I'm like this with alot of things...my cross stitch charts, cookbooks, reading books, ect. I've had ppl say that I'm somewhat obsessive/compulsive but I just really like to put things in order. Believe it or not, I love doing paperwork. When other ppl complain about having to do it, I'm having fun. When I did Ebay, my favorite part was keeping my notebook of who bought what, when, where it was going, there shipping info and all of that. I love helping my Mom do her taxes...well, the part where I have to put all of her receipts (shoeboxes full) into a list on the pc. My Mom says I should have had a job doing something with this but I could never figure out what kind of a job that would have been. I took recordkeeping and accounting in school but I don't really like doing alot with math...sorting numbers is fine...doing math sucks for me.
So, do you think I'm obsessive/compulsive or are there other ppl out there that like to do paperwork and organize them? What kind of job would you have picked if you liked doing this sort of thing?
Just for fun, here's one of my baking recipes in the game :)
Bug Bites (it's a snack)
In an oven combine,
Bixie Parts
Fire Beetle Eye
Spider Legs
Wasp Wing
Mmmm Good LOL
There's also normal things like breads, omlets, veggie soup, birthday cake, ect. I just thought that the Bug Bites are cute LOL

Could you come to my house and get ME organized hon? LOL! You are not obsessive/compulsive...you are incredibly organized, and that is most definitely a good thing. I've tried to do that, but then somehow I end up losing the notebooks or something stupid like that. Keep doing what you're doing hon. That way you know where everything is and it's easy to get to it. BTW, YUMM-O on the Bug Bites! Hahahaha!

I'm not as organized as I used to be - I was obsessive complusive about it but the last year or two it just seems like I have so many other things pulling me in different directions I get lost and never manage to catch up on my organizing.

Your just well-organized is all. Some ppl like to be organized and some don't. Bout the only thing in my house that's well-organized is my file cabinet. If someone needs something out of it, I can tell them exactly where to look for it.

I don't think you are. There is no such thing as being too organized, if you ask me. I am the same way. I print out things I need and organize them. It makes it easier when you need to go back and find something. My husband says I'm too organized too, but when he needs something and I know where it is, he doesn't complain.

I'm an organized person too. I don't know that I would go so far as doing it for a game though. But if you play it all the time I guess it would be a good thing to do because it would help you out and you wouldn't have to go back and forth.

I like to have things printed and organized but am not always willing to take the time to do it. I played an online game for awhile and did the same as you - printed out the goals and quests. It was hard to scroll through the list every time I was at a certain point!
Organizing skills can help in almost every job but I think they work best in jobs where there is lots of data filtering through you everyday. I am very organized on my computer at work and can usually find a file in minutes. It's rare that I don't remember where a file is or at least have an idea where it should be. So working with computers might be good for you too!

Being a business owner, I know the value of being well organized. I keep everything in my files alphabetically ordered, including product pictures, customer names and the like. In most cases I have a habit of doing the very same thing as you when it comes to online gaming. I've never played EverQuest, but I have played World of Warcraft and do so with Adventure Quest. It certainly makes life a bit easier to be well organized. Plus it just gets annoying have to stop and look for something..lol!
I can't think of myself doing any other job that requires such organizational skills as the one that I am in now.

I don't think you are too organized. If I actually felt like using a lot of paper, I'd probably try to do the same thing with a few places that I visit so I could make things easier. I just don't feel like wasting all of that paper and what not when I need to keep as much of my paper as possible so I don't have to go out and spend cash to get more all the time. Just makes things easier for me.

I am just like you. I like putting things in order.I love doing paperwork. But I like math too but I don't think I would want to be an accountant.I don't see anything wrong with being organized.Especially when it is fun keeping everything in order.

Wow that's crazy!!! I can see that if you like it yeah no big deal. I would do it with my crafts and with important documents. But as far as printing things off for a game just to sort them that's a little out there. Lol I'm glad you like it though and that's all that matters. Maybe you could be some one's personal assistant and organize everything like that for them. They have pro organizers where that's all they do!!

Oh I think it is perfectly normal, there are a lot of people like that out here!
And I'm 50/50 the same way, it has helped me in the bookeeping business, self employed business, tax preparation business(what I do now), and in an accounting job!

Some people are well organized and some people are not and then there are types like me who if we do not compulsively organize and keep our systems up to date, things just start falling apart until we are swallowed by a boatload of clutter. It is only a problem if the organizing gets tedious or gets in the way of living. Sounds to me like you are doing great. I'll pass on the snack, though, thank you just the same. Sounds too crunchy. Maybe I'll have a two bite brownie and a glass of milk instead.

I'm very organized too and love it. I don't like not knowing where something is that I need. When I need something, I know exactly where it is and can get it in seconds UNLESS my dear hubby got it and didn't put it back where it belongs and that happens A LOT and aggravates the day lights out of me. Then he'll have the gall to ask me where something is and if it's not there, I'm the one who's upset because I don't like losing anything especially if I use that one something often.

I don't think you are too organized at all. I love to keep everything organized so that I can find it easier. My clothes are hanging by season and type in the closet. My spices are in alphebetical order. My dishes are two different colors so I like them stacked blue, green, blue, green so that when I set the table, I don't have to go hunting for the correct color. My movies are sorted by alphebet and if there is a series like "Star Wars" then they are in order of the first episode to the last.
