At the present rate of oil comsumption... we still have enough oil in the world to last us over one hundred years...
And as it is primordial that we replace oil with cleaner energy in the next 20 years... one could guess that we will never run out of oil as we start using less of it.
Saudi Arabia has a quarter of the world reserves.
But a little know fact is that Canada has the second largest reserve and is the biggest supplier to the United States... not Saudi Arabia has many believe.
The largest producer is Russia... but they only have a reserve of 17 years because they are producing so much.
Second is Saudi Arabia with an 81 years reserve.
Third United States with a 12 years reserve.
Fourth Iran with 101 years reserve.
Fifth Mexico with 10 years reserve.
Sixth Canada with 182 years reserve.
Seven Kuwait with 108 years reserve.
Eight United Arab Emirates with 107 years reserve.
Nine Venezuela with 91 years reserve.
Ten Iraq with 143 years reserve.
So... if you are like me... you will be asking yourself... "Why does the price of oil keeps going up?" It is certainely not due to a shortage of it.
