I just heard that Parcells hired Sparano as the new Dolphins coach. He was with Dallas so I don't know how good he was. Are you happy, sad, or indifferent with this hire?

I'm not a Dolphins fan, however, I do have an opinion. Sparano may have been a better fit elsewhere. I think that no matter who coached the Dolphins, the real coach will be Executive Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells. I think he will be controlling and the new GM and Head Coach won't have much say, even if they are calling the plays. Parcells won't interfere with the play calling, but he will interfere with personnel decisions. Look for 40-45 players to be turned over within the next 18 months. Anyone willing to take this head coaching job is setting themselves up for failure. Coaches are being fired at an alarming rate. The next successful head coach of the Miami Dolphins won't be Sparano. It won't be the next one either. It will be the third or fourth hire.

I think Bill picked guys he knew and know him.It will be done Bill's way but I don't think he will meddle with his coaches.these are his guys and he knows what they can do and he trusts them. If he didn't know these guys and had to use them , then I could see him meddling.

I actually think they will be better off with Sparano. And let me point out that Parcells actually hand picked Ireland and Sparano. He handpicked them when he was the Dallas Head Coach and he picked them now. Ireland and Sparano share the same philosophies as Parcells. Of course Parcells will be making most of the personel decisions, with the help of Ireland. They will run everything as far as players go with each other. And that will leave Sparano open to do what he does best, coach. And he is a hell of a coach. I'm happy with the decision and although I don't see them going from last to first place, I do believe they will be a lot better and have a shot to get into the playoff next year as a wildcard. And in a couple years they will be battling it out with New England for the East spot.

Do you think you will get some of the kids from the U to stay and play for the Dolphins?

Yeah I mean look at all the players he brought in to help out Dallas, and not only that but the stars he brought into the league when he was with the Jets, Giants and Patriots. It's only a matter of time before he starts getting some big play makers in Miami and Sparano and Ireland will play just as big of a role in getting them there. Lets look at it this way-- Miami is a great city to live in, beautiful beaches and weather (as long as there are no hurricanes) and now the team has great coaches and they have a great history. I see great things for them in the future :)

I'm happy! Anybody but Cam Cameron. I'm a huge Dolphins fan, as is my hubby. And Sparano should do a better job helping us build a team again. What hurt us the most this year was the trading of all the best players. I have no clue what Cam was thinking trading Welker, Chambers, and McMicheals. They went on to be the best players on the teams traded to. Which made us all kick ourselves and be the butt end of many jokes. So Sparano should help out with recruiting and building a better team this year.
