Urban Legends and Blue Frost GatorAde

blue gatorade - Is it a fertility miracle?

When I was in middle school and through my sophomore year of high school I was in band and played the clarinet. I had the opportunity several summers to attend band camp. I also attended Christian summer camps, but it was my band camp experience that brings to mind one of my favorite youth urban legends. Tennessee is hot and steamy in the summertime, gatorade is a must for active young people and the most popular flavor at the time was the blue frost. The myth was that drinking lots of blue frost would make you very fertile. Case in point, in my freshman year of high school, there were two of my friends from camp that year that indulged in blue frost who got pregnant. Later one of my friends on the dance troupe ended up in the same condition and blue frost was again blamed. It was really comical, you could tell who was active sexually by what they were "not" drinking. What are some of your favorite youth urban legends? I don't want to hear about the ones we all have seen, but the ones that really affected you as a young person.

Okay this is a little different then what your talking about i think, but you know how in the movie candyman, if you look into the mirror and say candyman three times then bad stuff happens right, well i watched that a little too young i think and for a LONG LONG time like well into my early teens i was SO scared of mirrors and was carefull not to talk into them. LOL isn't that silly ?

Urban Legends are really interesting sometimes, Angelwhispers, especially when there is at least some corelation, for whatever reason. I haven't ever heard about blue gatorade. There are many from my youth days, here's one of them that was quite common in my part of the world and it was common among girls and boys. A man with falling hairs is a real man. He is more potent, more active and exciting, when he gets to physical activity in bed, and he fathers sons. I don't know about other aspects, but, Interestingly, most of the families in town, where boys were more than girls or where there were only boys, had bald/near bald fathers!:-)

Hello Kamran, Thats an interesting one. I would venture to say that American men would love to adopt this one and make it a popular conception. Thanks :)) I trust you are doing well my friend?

I am quite fine, Angel! I think this urban legend will not be able to sustain itself for long at my place. Ratio of men with androgenic alopecia has increased in last decade and so has the ratio of newborn girls to boys. So, it may probably change in future, maybe sooner than later!:-)

Coming from the UK I have not heard of this drink, but I must say it does sound potent. From an old Jamaican man I once worked with Guinness is the one if you ever want to concieve a boy. He was an expert as he has loads of sons from different women...LOL Long live Urban Legends :))

I have actually never heard of that Urban legend. I'm not sure if I could come up with a good urban legend that you haven't heard before. I'm not sure if there is one around where I live either. lol Sorry!

I guess I was such an outsider that I didn't get to hear any "urban legends" like you did. Of course, there WAS no Gatorade when I was a kid. I guess there are some advantages to being an outside, shunned by most of your peers.... Not getting pregnant.

Oh I bet if you dug deep enough, you would remember something. I have not always had gatorade either in fact I remember when TANG hit the market, dry O.J. just how cool was that.

Nope, just the common old urban legends.... And I remember Tang too, I actually kind of like it, but mom decided that she liked the frozen or fresh squeezed better.

Well... i want to get pregnant again and my husband is coming home from abroad... so i think i will try if this urband legend about the fertile maker blue frost gatorade is true... If i indeed get pregnant... i will send you a message...

Very good luck with that indeed. You drink plenty blue gatorade and keep hubby from Mountain Dew! Keep his balls nice and cool also and all should be fine :)) I would be honored to be notified of your success:))

Wow, that's an interesting myth. Can't say I've ever heard that one about a gatoraide brand. We didn't really have any myths when we were younger except for the fact that drinking mountain dew can reduce your sperm count or something like that. That went around for ages. But of course that didn't really affect me in any way.

LMAO I forgot about the mountain dew, yep thats another no drinker for the boys of my youth :))) too funny. The girls would not drink blue gatorade and the boys would not drink mountain dew for essentially the same reasons yet so opposite of each other.
