Why do men think that they are the only ones who can solve a problem?

My boyfriend has been living in the same house for the last five years. In this time the septic tank has never once been pumped. Now all of our sinks our tub and our toilet are all backing up on us. He bought that Rid-sx stuff to disolve some of the toilet paper and bring a little relief to the situation. Now he is a renter. We have put acid down the drains because that the drain was plugged we have plunged, etcetera. Now our toilet is backing up into our shower. Can you say "GROSS!"? and we're having to shower at friends houses. Shouldn't he just call the owner of the house who happens to be a woman and have her get the septic tank pumped rather than trying to forstall the inevitable need for pumping?

Yes, he should call the landlord and have the septic pumped. Can you just call the landlady yourself? I'd refuse to stay there until it is fixed.

Men just like trying to fix problems because I think they kind of feel like that is there job. And really, if he's renting the place then it's not really his responsibility to fix the problem. The landlord should be called so the problem can be fixed because really, that is a very unsanitary condition.

We just want to proof how helpful and indispensable we are ... LOL ... you certainly should talk him into pumping that thing. I'm surprised that the landlord doesn't do that regularly. Good luck.
