I checked out a wolfdog rescue a couple weeks ago.

I was told by a friend ( the lady that sent me my Macha ) that someone was starting a wolfdog rescue in my area. I went down to check it out & offer my help. 1st off I hate the guy ( not really but I'm extremely jeleous ). When I pulled in his driveway it lead down a beautiful hollow & over a creek with a waterfall & up to a gorgeous log home. WoW... On the plus side he'd probably be jeleous of My hounds. He might have more but I have better quality. He could never think of just turning his out but I know my Voden is well trained & will come when I call him. Not to mention except for his purebread wolves mine actually looked better. We hung out & exchanged stories for a while & he told me a good place to get free meat to give them & a better brand of food ( wich my dogs do seem to prefer ).Eventually I had to leave but the trip was quite worthwile. Has anyone else on here had experience with wolfdogs? What was it like?

Well I'm envious of you both. I love the sound of the other guy's place but I also think you are both lucky to have wolfdogs. I had one husky and wolf mix puppy that I loved but due to a very strange landlord at the time (she kept changing the rules on if we could have pets) I had to give her up. We found her a great home out in the country. She was beautiful and I checked up on her later on and she grew up to be gorgeous. I would love to have another now that we have our own house but I doubt it will happen.

Are you sure their legal in your area? If you have proper containment ( like fort knox in my case ) I might be able to put you in contact with some of the rescues that are looking for people to provide homes for some. There's several that are in need of good homes right now.

I just noticed you live in Florida. My Macha actually came from a rescue down there. You probably have several of them in your area.

I would love to but sadly due to finances and physical limitations I can't. It wouldn't be fair to the dog and I know it. If things change though I will definitely check into it because I would love to have one.
