Just in my mind pondering the fact that now mylot have added levels of members in their interest of discussions, do you think the moderator or admin of this site can psychologize members here...depth of a person in its experiences in life, all he or she is in life?You see members don't only discuss interests here too but mostly their own true to life experiences!!!
What are your opinions and insights on this...

I must admit I still don't really understand this new rating but guess for each his own - I don't really pay much attention to it and don't have time to figure it all out. I just respond to as many of my friend's discussions as I can and hope for some responses in return to the few discussions I post.

I don't think mylot has any alterior motives behind the new rating thing - I think they're just trying different things to keep it interesting here.
I love myLot and trust them :)

It's obvious that mylot devised this scheme to get all of us mylotter's to turn on each other...Just Kidding! I'm sure they're simply trying to offer incentives to encourage more users. I don't let it affect the way I participate in mylot though. Just have a good time!

It is up to us, the members, to rate discussions which will help the members being rated positively have their star rating and interest ratings increased. I am not just talking about "best response mark". I am talking about the + rating at the side of each response. I think people only use those to either report posts that go against the guidelines, or to give a negative rating. How many people are actually positively rating other people's responses? I know I am but I don't think a whole lot of people are.

Yeah you're right. I seldom rate others for their responses...but I am starting it lately.

Really i do not have the clear idea how do they decide on the interest ranking. also i am very doubtful about it. In a particular interest it is falling days by day although i participate there regularly. The most amazing part is that the persons above me are inactive for long time in mylot.

I think it's just another computer program gimmic to keep people interested in staying on mylot and posting often. Just like the I want to be able to copy and paste, and I want a star and I want a blue star, stuff like that. I really don't think mylot is doing any psychological theories on this stuff.
