My daughter is doing great with her new medication

As you know, last week I told you all that my 9 year old daughter was started on Adderrall for her ADD symptoms. I was supposed to go and meet with her teacher tomorrow but she called and rescheduled for today. Apparently I'm not the only one who is noticing a big difference. All of her teachers say that she is having a much easier time focusing and staying on task with her assignments. She is also having an easier time with her homework at night when she gets home too. So, I think we may be on the right track here and I will continue to keep in touch with the school and doctors. Thanks you all for your opinions and help with this matter when I needed your advice.~D

I'm glad that your daughter is doing great on the medications, just keep am eye out for any side effects I know when we tried adderral that the prescribing physician said to give the a big breakfast and reg lunch and a big dinner because one of the main side effects is loss of appetite. But I'm glad that it's working for your daughter. Have a nice night.

Yup, the doctor told us the same thing, so what I do is have her eat a big breakfast first, and then take her meds. She doesn't eat as much at lunch as she used to but the teachers say she does eat a balanced meal and by the time supper rolls around she is pretty hungry again and had a big supper.

It's amazing how quickly it can work if the child truly has ADD. I'm glad things are going better for your daughter. Just keep it closely monitored (sounds like you are already doing that) and I'm sure it will be fine.

I was surprised too at how quickly it seemed to work, the difference is like night and day, but it's a very good difference.

I am so happy for you and your daughter. Just keep an eye on her and have the docs run test, blood work stuff like that regularly. Some of that ADD medicine has some bad side effects. My grandson has to take medicine too, the side effects can be scary. But he really needs it like your daughter does. I hope she grows out of it soon and can quit taking the medicine.

I am so glad to hear that the Adderrall is helping! It is terrible for a child to go on without meds when they need meds.

I am glad the Adderrall seems to be helping her out. The first week you are always like, "WOW" in the difference. Hopefully it will continue to work for her. My son did great on Concerta for the first week and then it was all downhill and we had to switch him eventually on 2 separate occasions.

My daughter had to try all kinds of medicines before they found the right one for my grandson. My granddaughter needs it, but can't take any of it. She just doesn't do good with it, you just have to be careful and watch your child, you know them better then anybody.
