How can I retrieve the friendship?

It has been almost one year since I last contact my old friends. Considering my work,salary,achievement etc, I feel frustrated without keeping in touch with my old friends. Now I regret for that stupid action. What can I do? How can I retrieve the friendship? Is it strange to call or meet someone who I havn't contacted for a long time suddenly? I feel confused.Please give me some advice.
