I went to Portugal with my baby son from the middle September and early October 2007. It was his first holiday and I bought a light weight folding travel cot with us. He didn't mind flying at all. We stayed near the airport for a couple of nights. Then we got a train to Lagos. I loved seeing the beautiful sandy beaches there with interesting rock formation, an interesting lighthouse and the cobbled streets of the old town. The weather was warm and sunny. We spent five nights there, going out for days to different places. Next we caught a train to Lisbon, the lovely capital city. I loved seeing the old castle with stunning views of the city, riding on the trams along narrow streets and seeing all the old buildings. I liked the friendly atmosphere and the joy of finding a lovely health food shop and a wrought iron lift that we went up. Wow! The night view over the streets was lovely and I especially liked seeing the magical looking castle all lit up. We ended up staying five nights in interesting and picturesque Lisbon. Lastly we caught a train to a place near the airport for a couple of nights. We liked looked around town at the old buildings and I especially liked seeing the old castle walls with a pretty little garden inside them. We had a fantastic holiday.

I really don't have a lot of time for vacations, but the last one was a "mini-vacation" that resulted in a trip to see my family for the Christmas holidays. I got to see everyone, my parents, my sisters, and my other family in the area and hang out with them for Christmas. I did a little shopping and a little bit of relaxing, but a lot of it was playing with my baby nephew.
