Kitchen Makeover

I put this in cooking category for my own reasons. I don't really know why - I just did. Last year we installed a very nice outdoor kitchen and we've used it frequently entertaining outside. This year, we are re-doing our inside kitchen. We are getting 'up-town' with our kitchen makeover. New cabinets, new black and stainless steel refrigerator/freezer - WITH an ice maker. Yeaa! I don't have to make ice three times a day anymore. We're putting in a new black and stainless steel 4 burner stove with a grill built in and purchasing all new black and silver small appliances - microwave and coffee maker. And the new black granite countertop is amazing. Our kitchen makeover is going to make me feel like a real chef now. I'm going to enjoy cooking so much. Oh - I almost forgot - - - a new, old fashioned, tin ceiling that looks like burnished copper will also be installed. I'm so excited. Anybody else going to do a kitchen makeover this year?

This sounds like a great kitchen. I don't think I want the ceiling to look like tin though. It sounds very expensive to get all this done but well worth it. I thought about remodeling the whole house at one time but we have decided to move to another state when my husband retires. This means why put the money out when I am only going to have to leave it behind. The kitchen is not bad. Not as nice as yours will be but livable. I am affraid that I am going to have to redo the bathroom before we more. I with you luck with your remodel because it sounds great. I love the black and steel look refrigerators. Have a great day and enjoy your soon to be new kitchen.

i would like to do a make over but i doubt we will since there is not much money for it and our house is so small I don't think we'd get any return out of a nice kitchen... right now i have such an ugly kitchen...the lady who lived here before us had the worst taste in the world...our house looked like a bowl of fruitloops, but not in a cool funky way :P the tin ceiling sounds cool...and the ice maker is definately nice...

While the return is a nice plus, and will benefit us in the long run, we are doing it mainly for us. It's been a long time coming - and the ice maker is awesome. I no longer have to empty ice trays twice a day.....

We already had our kitchen maker done years ago. When we got our house, we had laminate covered kitchen cabinets that reached up to the ceiling, a table in the kitchen, and not that much countertop and the linoleum was a red paisley pattern -the former owners were Pakistani and they rented it out to their relatives. We moved our stove and bought our fridge. Years later, we got rid of the stove and bought a ceramic stove, put the fridge down in the basement, as well as the convection microwave, took out the table, and put a granite countertop with matching sink, plus new cupboards in a walnut tone plus a pantry. We also removed the linoleum and put one in a white pattern that is easy to clean. Sorry we did not put an island insiide because the kitchen is small and I sort of have a habit of bumping into things. We also put in a ceiling light fan and a microwave.
