Banners on My Page ?

How do I put the banners on My Pge ? I can crate a New Container. Then I can create a new HTML sortie. Then I press edit and paste the banner code into the relevent place. But then I have problems. How do I save it. It says press close edit, but this just clear the code that I have just pasted. If anyone could offer any advic I would be truly grateful as its driving me bananas and stopping me from writing so many articles. Thank you in advance
